Waste of the World

Welcome welcome all to the House of Suby. It's my fourth day as a blogger on this site and I have to say I am enjoying reading the comments you have all been leaving. Some comments have been funny, some have been witty, some have been short, some have been long, some have been harsh and some have been nice. Accept this thanks from the bottom of my heart, for the little time you have taken out of your busy days to post your thoughts, on this humble blogger's site. Thank you, thank you, thank you all :) --- WASTE OF THE WORLD Food… Delectable, succulent, glorious food of various hues, tastes and aromas. Yet we seem to go through glorious food with such prodigal recklessness and lavish extravagance. When there are children dying of malnutrition every single day in Niger, we, the ‘civilised’ citizens of the ‘first’ world do not seem to have any scruples about daily waste of world’s resources. We go through food, through material goods, through relationships – anything that could fill the gaping hole of overindulgence in our souls – with the same lavish wastefulness. We wear out and discard all that we had once desperately sought or yearned for with such passion and insatiable appetite, almost as soon as we gorge ourselves to pot-bellied satisfaction. They are of no use, of no worth after that. And thus, what could have been one man’s feast becomes another’s trash. At the feast of worldly goods, our eyes are much bigger than our souls. -- Photograph by Suby Words by Sinem "Ars longa, vita brevis"

Mmm... Is that Nigerian cuisine? Good bluring of the background to focus on the half eaten plate of food. Though perhaps you shouldn't have eaten SO much before taking the shot. Almost looks like left overs now. But then again, one should never keep a man from his food eh? wink
