Eyeball to Eyeball

Okay, need to step away from the landscape photography I seem to be getting myself drawn into on my blogs lately. This is not my forte. I need to return to my 1st love. I am a portraiture guy, I love people photography, that is what got me into photography in the 1st place. Being able to capture the moment, the expressions, the joy, the sadness and ins & out of Life. So going to depart from the landscape side of things for a little while. This was a picture I took at Silverstone (remember I blagged my way into a press pass :) ) last year. I had just bought my Canon a few days before, auto setting was king, Out of the 2 racing days at Silverstone, took about 700 images(yes foolish) and only got about 40 (okay more like 30) really good images. This is one of my favourite images from that weekend, also got loads of kudos on it during my photography courses last year. Purely taken by luck as I was walking through the garages to the pits. Chanced upon this driver and his engineer probably talking strategy for his upcoming race. They where so intense in their chat, I just had to take this snap. I stupidly only took 1 shot of them, if only I knew then what I know now (he weeps). Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. So peeps can I have your take on this image? What do you think of it? Suby EYEBALL TO EYEBALL It takes guts to face someone head on and look at them straight in the eye. Most times, we turn our backs and run away, avoid confrontation, criticism or a bit of dressing down. What was going on between these guys in that very moment this shot was captured? The older man has an air of authority in the way he holds himself, almost looking down on the younger man. The younger man, in return, looks defiant in the way he confronts the older man’s gaze. Was this a moment of friction, a moment of disagreement? We don’t always have to see eye to eye; but what matters is to have the courage to stand your ground, eyeball to eyeball. This works b/c it captures a conversation, which makes the viewer wonder what is going on!

However, I don't think enough tones are present to make an interesting black and white pic!
Dude play around with the curves.....that would greatly improve the shot.
I like it but am not sure who the focus is on, my eye leads to the younger guy due to the framing and the white t-shirt but he's not as focussed as the older guy.

Nice capture none the less.
Hmm... not too sure what to say about this shot. Nothing screams bad shot, yet nothing screams good shot. It's just very very "ok".
