Brothers

Been a loooooong week. Thank God it's Friday.

People, so what have you thought so far of the portraits I have put up? Am I on the button? Am I still on the way to world domination? (remember the title of "world best photographer is mine" lol )

Let me know what you think. As for now, it's going on 01:20hrs, need to be at work at 07:45hrs. So what the hell am I doing up at this time? I wish I knew the answer.....  To shattered to think at the moment.

The image today is one of 2 brothers as you may have guessed. Brain dead at the moment to write anything witty or interesting about this shot. So you will have to make do with this for now, or better still give me a helping hand, what is the best caption for this image? :)

You all have a lovely and wonderful weekend.

You have a great talent for portraits, and I like the post-processing you did to bring out the neck-ties. I think they may want a copy for themselves.
The caption you have selected matches perfect for me.
Suby & Sinem: Thank you Clarence, they actually love the pictures. Thanks for visiting, make sure you come back smile
Great portrait and perfect for black and white. I think I might like it better if the color was slighly more muted. It almost distracts me from the looking at the faces. All-in-all -great shot!
Suby & Sinem: Yep the tie was supposed to create that effect, maybe it's a little overdone though smile (MAYBE)
This is very good, though I agree with the above comment - my gaze is too distracted by the ties to look at the eyes, which is where i think the heart of this picture really lies. That all rhymed. Totally unintentional.
Complete colour seperation is not something I really like in digital photography, here you've highlighted the vibrant colours of the ties and I think it works quite well, only thing is that it not makes them the focus of the picture and not the individuals that you are taking. In other words they are too distracting.

Should I say....ME NO LIKEY then?
Suby & Sinem: Hey Jide, I am the only one allowed to say "me no likey" smile I actually boosted the saturation in the ties, I wanted the ties to also be a focus of the image. Guess it worked but see not everyone likes sad Oh well I learned something else today.

dude the colours are distracting from the guys, maybe u could mute them down a bit. they seem to be competing with the brothers for attention. on ur shot today "ME NO LIKEY" he he he. its a nice postrait and it would have been the best out of the others.

Not me.....I like the color separation. And your much better at it than I. That glare to the left of the guy on the left is a tad bit distracting, but it's still a great shot.

I think your portraits the past couple of days (I'm new here) have been great. They seem to show the true character of the subjects. Focus on that, keeping a subject true to character, when it comes to portraits. Simple is good.
The faces are great in this shot.

I think the colour seperation is too much Suby. The subject matter isn't enhanced or complimented by the addition of colour to the ties. Actually I think these two bro's have so much charisma that this image should be in colour. As it is, it seems to flatten they're own individual characteristics, making both alike that there's no contrast between them. Front brother has a larger more contoured nose with slightly shallower eye sockets, lines on his forehead are diminshed by the B&W and the eye colour which can be effectual is a flat tone that isn't emphasised by the catchlight they both have. Compositely it could have been situated a litle to the right to give the front subject more perspective as he appears to the fore more than his brother. As it is it's still a very good portrait, but it good be more than good I think?
Suby & Sinem: I have sort of changed my style when it comes to colur seperation due to comments like this (now that is why I post), have a look at this shot http://suby.shutterchance.com/photoblog/1399.htm and see how this compares. smile
Thanks for taken the time to comment. Nothing from you in a while smile Suby

Nice shot suby, but yes, ties do distract from the eyes of the subject. I'll give you a 7.6 for rffort though and comp.
Suby & Sinem: I can leave with 7.6 out of 10any day bro. smile thanks. Suby

hmmm... like the picture but also have to say that there is something wrong with the black/white tones - don't know what it is though but if the tone (black/white) was much sharper/focused it would have been a perfect shot. Like the play on clours with the tie though....

Subomi...you can guess why I chose to comment on this picture. In general though, I think most of the pictures are of good quality. You clearly have an eye for positioning. I don't agree with other comments that the ties are a distraction. The ties only take up less than 3% of the total surface area of the picture. It's fine as it is. The contrast does make the guys in the picture less flattering though. That aspect (contrasting) could be better, Of course, I can only say this because I know the guys in the picture. All the best bro.
Suby & Sinem: T man, thanks for that bro, I totally agree with you on the contrast of the guys, thing is my monitor at home plays havoc with my images. Always seems too dark and then when I view on another monitor I see ummm too light, Issue I am trying to resolve by connecting my spare monitor up. Always good to get 2 perspectives don't you think? Suby
they look ready to take on the Mitchell brothers in Eastenders-Phil and Grant.
