photoblog image Q for Quality

Q for Quality

The 1st shot showcasing the brothers. What better way to start than to showcase up & coming future R&B star Q.

The brother has got one hell of a soulful blower. He definitely can sing, has got the looks, the future looks bright.

To my brother Q, keep blowing Bro.

Suby, this is different. Not bad. I like the colour. Nice one.

Hey cousin, I love your photos so i'll leave the criticism to the other photographers. It's amazing seeing how far you've come with photos like this though! Cute guy too!
Suby & Sinem: Awwwwww, ma fav cuz in the house, thanks for visiting smile Make sure you come back.
If you must say so Suby, but I shall not criticise as it put other people from leaving comments, so I'll just say that you have done a REAL GOOD JOB Suby.
Suby & Sinem: God this is starting to become boring. How am I going to improve in my photography if all I ever get is," I'll just say that you have done a REAL GOOD JOB Suby" Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Will people start leaving comments, good or bad or I am going to start busting caps in you all smile
Okay you asked for it. The only problem with this shot is that your subject is looking away from the camera at something, we can't see it. If he looking into the camera that would have made it even a better shot. Remember I'm supposed to be getting lessons from you, Mr Chief Photographer! wink
Suby & Sinem: Damn, finally, phew, finally, next time just let me have it will you... smile Yep I understand what you are saying, was actually shot through a crowd as Q was singing, by the time I had moved to position myself in front, moment gone. Oh well, you win some, you loose some.
I have no problem with the fact that he is not looking at the camera. Why should he? I don't think this would make the picture any better.
Nice frame, nice colors, well focused, great capture... maybe the only thing that bothers me a little bit is the blurred figure in the background. This takes away the attention... yes I want to see that gorgeous woman in the background smile
I would want the background a bit more blurred or have a more "even" unpersonnal background so that my eyes keep looking at your brother.

Suby & Sinem: Yep my harshest critique, me lovely sister. I will one day take a pic that is bang on the money (sigh) smile

You are too close, you chopped his head off and hes not looking at you, nor are his eyes open enough to give a sense of anything.
Suby & Sinem: Didn't have a chance to do otherwise mate, this was through a crowd remember. Thanks for the comment though smile
No idea who Q is, but I like the background blur.
Suby & Sinem: Q is a guy you should watch out for, with the voice he has got, he will be BIG smile Like the DOF myself.
Love the colour swirling around ... like you can see the music.
Suby & Sinem: You know you are the 1st person to point that out (yep you've got the eye), that was what I was hoping to capture and I felt I did, don't have to capture him singing with his eyes wide open or him face on do I to convey the message.

The cropping is too close for me.

You get a "you can do better" today. smile
Suby & Sinem: I have to impress you with my next picture I hope. A "you can do better" for me, noooooo. I am the "best photographer in the world", not good enough. lol
Nice colours but the brightness of the distant subject is distracting me from his features.
Suby & Sinem: Yo bro, will try to accomodate in my next pic smile Thanks for the comment.

Great shot! His mouth is opened just wide enough to let us know what he's doing. He should love this!
Suby & Sinem: I know he will. Thanks for visitng

Aaah! I cant stop from thinking that he is doing something naughty. :-P

Critique: There is brown-orange cast here, which looks like a White Balance issue.
Suby & Sinem: Na he was only serenading a girl smileJust boosted up the saturation and contrast smile Thanks for visiting.

Now, everyone, it is so obvious what Q is doing and it is also obvious that this is one of those 'seize the moment' shots where you cannot really position yourself as perfectly as you wish because you don't want to miss the moment.
On the other hand, I think this is one of the average shots from the weekend. There are far better ones (watch this space, you all!)
And left to me, I would have titled this photo 'Q for Quality'!
Suby & Sinem: Awwww, love the woman to bits smile Hey did you notice I changed the title, so why did you not think of this last night? sad
Nice capture, Suby. Good luck to your brother. Are you quickly becoming his personal photographer? smile Have a good one. Regards, Brent

Great shot considering the circumstances. No need for him to look at the camera; action/candid shots like this are more powerful when he is NOT looking at you. However, if time and the crowd had permitted, I might have angled it so the woman's face wasn't partially obscured.
