photoblog image Walk To The Light

Walk To The Light

16:22hrs Awww shucks, just noticed the comments I put up for this shot have dissapeared. Aaaaaahhhhhhh how did that happen? Duane answers please :)

Anyway the short version is I took this shot on Friday on walkey during my lunch break. Was looking for something/anything to snap when I came across this, just loved the way people seemed to be walking towards the light.

Tried taking more images on a walkey on Saturday, started as a lovely bright summers day, but then the lovely British weather had to come in a spoil everything, so had to protect me love, me 20D, damn have to go enviromental on my next camera...  the lovely, fantastic Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II , my future mistress :)

I hope you all enjoy and thanks for the lovely comments so far.

Have you all are having a lovely weekend.

I like it, the way the light comes and the two guys walking is really nice, it reminds me scenes I have seen in movies smile

I think if I had 20D, I would be crazy about protecting it during raining, just imagine Im trying to protect my humble S1 IS when Im shooting with rain wink
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Dia, see you are really enjoying your travels smile Ahhh you are soo lucky. Yep, our cameras are our little babies.
Nice one Suby, I have a shot just like this one. I think I'll put it up in my past gallery (i.e. in the archive of last years stuff....

You really are coming up!!!
Suby & Sinem: Coming up? But I am the DADDY smileHey just checked your archive, you putting up some lovely shots. Why you putting them in your archives? Queue them up baby. Have to take time to have a look through them smile

ooh - this is nice. i'm glad you kept the detail in the dark parts, and i love the wide swath of dark at the bottom.
Suby & Sinem: Yup, thanks to the channel mixer, actually did 3 monochrome versions of this shot, one with the channel mixer, one with lightness channel and one with the calculation method, just seemed to prefer this one done with the channel mixer, more detailed, have to say, real pleased at this image smile
Very eerie! Like in a SF movie! I love it!
Suby & Sinem: Maybe I was actually captured by aliens from the planet Zod lol. Glad you like.
Nice sense of perspective on the shot Suby, also the B & W conversion as usual gives it more atmos..
Suby & Sinem: Yep I agree with you on the B&W conversion. Thanks for visiting and your comment

Nice idea and shot. I think I might have lost some of the fourground.
Suby & Sinem: Ummmmmmm, naaaaaaaaa, think it actually works better with the foreground, Tried cropping and it turned into a different picture, Want to convey the lenghth of the journey to the light, hence all the foreground. Thanks for the comment though smile

This is a fun shot! So let's get this straight...you shoot this with all the sunlight, and next it's raining? Bummer. I too was hindered by rain yesterday for awhile.
Suby & Sinem: Yep the lovely British weather strikes again smile

There is always light on the other side of the dark road and your photograph has captured it very nicely. Cheers!!
Suby & Sinem: I definitly agree with you on that one. There is always light... smile Thanks for the visit. Please definitely drop by again. P.s. You got some lovely shots smile
Suby Suby, I like this image, but I think a lil' bit of the lower bottom could be cropped away?

Nice shot Suby. I Really like the lighting and vignetting in this shot. You'd be surprised How weatherproof these dslr's are; I've stood in the middle of a race track before, for a couple of hours while it poured down, and the camera performed. A trick my father uses is to carry a chamois leather around with him, which he drapes over the camera and lens when it rains.
Great shot, well composed and the lot!

That's quite a striking image, great negative space and strong focus. Nice.
Suby & Sinem: You make my day Bob smile Thanks for the comments and definitely revisit me blog
Great capture, Suby! This shot and your shot right after it have been, in my opinion, light years ahead of a few shot you had posted lately. The tones work great and the overexposed elements are really, really fine. This is a great capture, and it would work in either landscape or portrait format. Regards.
Suby & Sinem: Awww Brent thanks, Smiling from ear to ear here. Maybe I am actually improving smile So what have you thought of Sinems images over the last few days? She has finally caught the Bug, seems I have created a monster smile
The light in the end of the tunnel. Great composition.
