OLD FRIENDS

Just trying to give you guys a break from seeing landscape and animal photographs - in the next couple of days - provided Suby doesn't take over the ownership of his blog - I will be posting the results of the street photography expeditions I went on yesterday and today. This photograph is from Friday - when I was still too timid to go up to people and ask their permission to take their photographs and hence used rather sly and sneaky means to get these photos. Today I actually went up to people and asked for permission. Hurray!

OLD FRIENDS

There is an old Turkish proverb "No journey is long with good friends."

Take good care of your friends, for the journey is long and you will need good company, good conversation and someone who will not leave you when the path gets steep and dark. Or as another proverb says,

"Don't walk behind me, I may not lead; don't walk in front of me, I may not follow; just walk beside me and be my friend."

Side by side, the journey is so much more fun!

The problem with white people is that they dont provide contrast in b/w pictures. They are however good in color shots. Hee Hee!

Nice shot. Il like these "sociology" pictures that shows people in their real attitudes, not posing for the photograph. It is very difficult to obtain with or without their permission.
And B & W is the best way to render it ! smile
Interesting shot.

Cool. You finally got the courage to do this smile Did you ask them before or after taking the shot?

I do not really like it, the surroundings do not really add to the photo so it could be taken closer up. Also it seems to be a little unsharp for my liking. Just not feeling the expression here. I might just be me on the other hand... later on.
very touching. captured the right subjects at (possibly) the right time. u have guts. still trying to pick up the nerve to do this: sneaky or otherwise. but at least now i take pics in public without a care in the world....

Nice. Humans being human. The shapes of the planters enclose them nicely.
Something makes me look forward to being old. Nice shot.

This shot really captures the title "old friends". I like the expression on the face of the guy on the right, seems really engrossed in his friend's story. Nice shot.
Great capture, the characters look so interesting, are they old friends? what are they talking about?
