Me

Suby in the House.

Thank you thank you for all the comments I received for my post yesterday. Some absolutely loved it, others didn't. Now thats more like it. Controversy :)

Now more of those images that I like. This is the dreaded Subster/ Lord Vader/Me/Subomi/Suby in all his glory. I don't know if you guys are ready for my handsome face, but I thought, "what the hell, out of the few images of me, this is one I like and makes me smile". So for that you have to behold "The Man" for 24hrs.

Hey fan mails can be posted to me at...... :) All marriage proposals (from women only please) welcome.  Although I should warn you, Sinem will kick some but*. LOL

This shot was done last week Friday by a colleague Marius. I am not normally this geeky looking (glasses wearing geek that I am) but have been ruled of contacts by my Opta....(can't spell the remaining) for a few months, so it's back to the glasses for now.

So those of you who want to throw daggers or kiss the Subster. Here is your chance.  Now get kissing LOL.

Editing: Conversion to monochrome with channel mixer, Sharpening of part of my handsome body, G blur to right side of my handsome face and background, increase in background & foreground contrast.

Suby

"Ars longa, vita brevis."

P.s
To see the bad side of Suby when he beholds dud images, refer to my post (and rant) 17-Apr-06 http://suby.shutterchance.com/photoblog/1242.htm

Modesty, sorry what is that?

Nice suby, much better shot. I'm really diggin' the tone. Good composition.

So, THATS what you look like. Awesome self portrait.
Suby & Sinem: he he, me made you like. Or was it because you saw how big I am and you decided you had better be nice? smile Okay serious, thanks bro, was snapped by a colleague, had to sort of compose the shot though smileSuby
WOW!!!! IS THAT YOU?????? WOW!!!!
Suby & Sinem: Yep me in all my handsomeness. He he he
Okay who took the shot?

Also I like the softening...you've mastered it now.
Suby & Sinem: Shoved camera at a colleague adjusted settings and said, okay show me what you can do (him a photography enthusiast). Was really please with the shot smile Thanks bro
Nice to finally see the man behind the camera. I love your work, mate. I learn something from you each and every time I'm here. Thanks for sharing your amazing photography with us. Cheers.
Suby & Sinem: Yep, I finally decides to show his mug smile Awww, you made me day with your comments about my images, Awww tears coming to eyes smile I'm really glad it's liked. Comments like these make me want to run out and take more shots. Thanks again. Suby

Hmmm, being the ordinary civilian that I am, I feel it's a tad too "glowy" for a black and white (if that makes any sense). Would definitely love to see the same effect in colour ...

Oh, and glasses aren't geeky - they're chic! Started wearing contacts two years ago and am thinking of getting some non-prescription nice thick black plastic frames. That way, I get the best of both worlds - the look that screams chic, intellectual ad insightful, minus the extreme dependence that I once had on my glasses. Can see myself taking them off and mock-chewing one of the ends whilst staring meaningfully into the distance ... [minus the squinting!]
Suby & Sinem: WHAT!!!! A civilian stepping to me???? How dare she? (fumes and puffs and hopes to blow her house down smile ) It's cool, I however did not apply much G blur (glowy as you call it), I did not want to get that overall glowy feel so I meshed around with g glow and sharpening the image. E.g, for the face, I only really aplied the G glow to the area below my eyes, and for my big forward head, Guassian blurred.

Now you have actually started making me look at my glasses in new light. So from now on I will refer to them as my "chic" frames. Yeah Suby no longer a geek but all down with the program smile Thanks for dropping by, do come again. Suby

Nice to meet you!
Most photographers are so shy !
You make me think of my boy's sport coach.

I am not so good at b&w conversions. I only use b&w when the subject begs for it. I have a b&w series in the pipeline about people living along the railway tracks.

Do you want high resolution files of those pictures you want to convert in b&w?
Suby & Sinem: Me soo shy to, buth thought it would be nice if you guys out there could put a face to the Subster. I guess your boys sports coach is a handsome devil like me? smile
I am still waitng for the High res pics, will work on em and send you a detailed step by step guide of what I have done. By the way, what editing software do you use? Will try to use the same as you've got for the editing (assuming I have it) smile

So that's what you look like... I quite like the composition, especially how your head tilts towards the guy in the background, dressed in light tones when you are dressed in dark colours.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks bro, the dress was a fluke, the pose was becase I look less fat posed like this, Oh well i generally spend most of my time looking for the best shot of my subjects, guess i SHOULD KNOW MINE smile Glad you like. Suby.
P.s When we goiung to see you. in fact, usual supsects(regurlars to Subys blog I mean), can we have a self portrait or something, love to put a face to the friends I have made smile No abstracty arty fartsy stuff please

Oga na dat be U??? Wey dun jare, carry on with ur bad sef, cheif shutterchance gangster. nice softening. how are u doing it?
Suby & Sinem: Yup, me in all my handsomeness smile Me a "Gangster?" accept it if it makes me a better photographer, hets me a 5D & a Mark II, helps me encourage other "prosumers" to take better photographs and wins me loads and loads of new friends smile
How did i do this, It's all in the layers my friend. You have to become one with layers and I have discovered you can do anything in Photoshop, That guy Scott Kelby as always is right.

I really would like to meet up with you guys someday soon to learn from you also, I see some of the editing you guys do and would like to see HOW you go about achieving it. Oh well, one day. Suby

Actually, I think it's a superb shot. Tripod and self-timer or Sinem?

At last the mystery is solved!! No more sitting around and wondering what that most entertaining, clever, fabulous photographer looks like. I now know him to be this handsome gentleman. Life will be so much easier from here on out.

Excellent portrait! Is it a self portrait?

Nice to finally see you!

Great self portrait. You and Sinem must make a lovely couple. Your next task will be a portrait together. With the wedding coming up, that should be easy!
