Shock and Horror, a macro from the Subster.

I took this shot one afternoon when I was waiting  for Sinem as she went into Tesco to do some shopping. Got bored sitting in the car so got out and did a few Macro shots of some branches hanging off some trees. This was a hard shot to take as the branch kept on swaying in the wind and it was quite far up.  I managed to get some decent shots. This I liked cause of the clear background.

What do you guys think of the shot? Hey don't ask me what the branch is called as I do  not have the slightest idea :)

Oh and yes I would have prefeared for the bit missing bottom of the image to have been in the shot, however as I was stood practically in the middle of the street to get the correct angle for the shot and it was windy as hell, out of the 10 shots I snapped only got 2 which where useable :( (here ends the excuse).

I 'LOVE' this shot. I'll be honest and let you know that if it wasn't copyrighted, this would make an excellent desktop wallpaper. smile One can even see the tiny little 'hair' on the plant. Well done!

What I Like:
-Angle
-Clear BG
-Detail
-It's a macro

What I Don't Like:
-That one middle green thiny bothers me.

All in all, very good shot Suby. I'm glad to see a macro shot out of you and that of a tree. Keep it up bro
Suby & Sinem: You know what, it bothers me too, but nothing could be done to it. And in the other images I took, the darn fig/tree/branch did not play ball smile
Thanks for the comment
Straight to the bone....

Composition and angle, others might argue, but I think they are both rather boring, sorry!

The plain white background doesn't help either.

Lighting too, average... but we all know you can do so much better... show us tomorrow!

Sorry...I don't think this is a macro shot!
Suby & Sinem: I love the fact the Skee man is back, I have to say the Reza man has been duputizing for you real good on the Shutterchance police squad. Think we should make him our newest enforcer smile

I knew you was going to dislike the lighting here, cause there is really non. However, this is what I was served with. All I did was sharpen the fig/tree/branch/whatever. No cropping was done to this shot, what you basically see is what I shot.

So why is this not a macro shot? U knew I was going to ask and yet you left me hanging sad Suby

First let me tell you that once you are married you should accompany your wife and carry her bags instead of fooling around with a camera in the middle of a high traffic street. ;-)

Nice shot! But I would have loved to see some sharper details of this curious branch!
Suby & Sinem: Shhhsssss Sidney, do you want her to see this? smile I try to go in as much as I can, but as i am one of those guys who spends not more than 5 minutes in the shop, I find it hard shopping around for hours. So it is easier to go with her and either wait outside the shop or just hang around, that way she can take all the time in the world, I would not hurry her up, and I am there to carry the bags once she comes out. smile
You guys are a hard lot to pls. That was the best shot out of a difficult opportunity, standing in the middle of the road trying to get a shot of a tree isn't something I want to do again smile

Suby, Suby, Suby, Fatal error #1. A husband (or almost husband) must always accompany said wife or fiance when she is shopping and not sit in the car or take pics. She needs you to tell her that the shoes don't make her feet look too big, and that the dress doesn't make her look fat, plus who else will hold the stuff she's already tried on while she finds more stuff to try on? LOL

This shot is good. Too bad the wind didn't help though, because it would have been better with a more of it in the frame and less branch in the frame, but nature doesn't alway co-operate does she? I do like the detail, and it is a curious looking bud.

PS-I posted something different, just for you. ;-)

Thanks for explaining where you took this, or that background would have made me believe this was a studio shot. I would have liked to see the two main bright green bits in focus, the one in the middle is especially distracting as it is.
Not my type of flower, but good shot man
Suby & Sinem: Is it a flower, why can't someone just put me out of my misery and tell me if this is a fig/tree/flower/branch or whatever?
smile Thanks for the comments Bro.

Great work, its good when you can spot an opportunity to take a few shots, its a reminder that you should have your camera with you all the time.
Very nice macro.

I LOVE THIS SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely thought I think the crop is too tight.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Bro, no crop done to shot, what you see is what the 20D saw. Will I blame the darn swaying branch. Why couldn't it have just kept still for a second? smile

I am liking this one my friend. You got that DOF thing right on. It really looks good.
Hey, drop me an e-mail and and let me know the details on this wedding thing. I'm going to be in Vegas next month, and you guys should make a run there. It would be a blast. Lots of cool stuff to shoot there.

i like this shot. For me the white background works. The missing bottom is a shame, but you already knew that, but also the top on the right of whatever it is should been in i think. And for me its macro enough. (find the colored text under the photo a bit disturbing, wouldn't do that if i was you)

Hmmmmm.... not feeling this one. Still better than I would have done it I guess ;-)
I like the white background and color of the plant. Maybe if I was more into plant macros I would have more affection for this one. Regards, Brent
