I present to you the lovely sweet" Li". One of me dearest cutest funniest crazy full of life mates. Shye finally came down to Milton Keynes to visit Sinem & I a coupe of weeks ago and as you already know, Suby had to have his camera ready to take shots of her.

I was extrememly lucky as she is soo photogenic it is a sin. I have to say a big big thank you to Li for being such a sport and allowing me a glimpse into her lovely life, as you know, the camera captures all and it captures all her sweetness here :)

Suby, I like the shot, but it doesn't match what you say about "Li". You say that she is cute, funny, and crazy; however, this portrait doesn't capture any of those traits. As a matter of fact, it's aloof. It says just the opposite of what you told about her. That said, she does look gentle.

So, from a technical standpoint, you pulled it off, but as far as telling a story, I think that you told the wrong one.

This is a great photo, but I have to agree with Paul. The photo gives the viewer a sense of calm, as though wisdom is being bestowed upon us. I'd love to see a 'crazy' portrait of her as well. Technically speaking, this is a very good portrait.

Angle seems wrong (based on the words you have pen'd to the pic). Not feeling this one... though Li does look radiant.

The portrait is lovely. Wonderful composition, tones, and lighting.

Paul does have a point though, in this portrait she appears quite serious and intense. She is very striking, lovely.

Do you have one that shows her more gregarious side?

Subster ma man. How are you?

You'll be the first one on my WIL and WIDL comments queue.

WIL:
-Lighting

-Detail
-Color, or lack thereof.
-Angle/composition.

WIDL:
-For me, the darks are too dark and it bothers me. The scarf is really really really black and it seems to distort her body.
-Not my cup up tea

Overall, from a technical stand point everything seems to be on the mark. Though not my style at all. But I still like it.

Hey I'm from India not U.S. :-P (as it came in last comment)
Nice one...however I'm getting the feeling that your screen is a bit too bright, you seem to have a lot of dark shots and have complained about my highlights been blown out. I think this may be the reason that your shots appear dark.

You're right about her being photogenic. Reminds me (in a good way!) about oracle in matrix. minus points been mentioned already. I'd also like a closer crop on her face but overall I think its a great shot

Oh my GOD!!! Suby I am going to kill you, you're so sly-I didn't even know you took this photo?! That's it from now on when I come to see you I am going to inspect your camera for photos of me before I leave...lol. Mate in fairness you do have a few other photos of me that fit the description you listed of me a bit better but I do understand that you were describing me from a personal view point rather than what the photo depicts…Can't wait to see you and Sinem this weekend...Li x

I like this one bro. Very nice catch. Makes me want to work on some of mine, and get away from the straight on portrait.

Haven't heard from you lately dude.....I know I'm not doing everything right. But your planning a wedding, so I'll let you slide.

Stay cool.....

I love the tones on her skin. That's spot on. I would do a little dodging to bring out the colors in the black areas. Li looks very radiant.
Not too much expression here. I'm sure the shot gives you a lot more affect than it does me. I need to really see her; I don't here, do I? It's very voyeuristic without giving me anything to look at. Cheers, Brent
great portrait...beautiful bw tone and hilightsmile
