Mirror Mirror...

Suby in the House

Now another one that is a little expiremental from the Subster. Expiremental in the the way this has been edited and the feel/mood I want to convey.

And yes it has a dark  feel, cause I WANTED IT THAT WAY

Thie was taken on Friday on a street walkie, came accross Raks (she hates that name :) ) and I had to plead, conjole and ofcourse bully her to pose for some shots for me :)

Seeing I was not going to give up, she grabbed a mate's sunglasses and the woman's constant companion, a MIRROR from her hand bag.

I immediately thought "ummm, this looks like a nice shot" and have to set up the camera settings for the subsequent shots to follow. On getting home I was struck at just how lovely this initial "1st shot" turned out (why do I always seem to hit pay dirt with the 1st shot of every shoot I do?

Sinem thankfully came up with the title cause I really could not think of  anything and she is better with words than I am :)

I like the look on the man in the background, me thinks he was checking her out (checky bugger) :)

woo hoo I am first! I really love this shot. It is so fabulous how she is posing and you got the guy in the back watching. It would be perfect of there wasn't another guy behind the one watching, he would be much gone. Besides that little thing I love love love this shot.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks faustina, really glad this shot is liked. smile

She does strike a good pose.....other than the guy behind her admirer, works really well. Nice shot!
Suby & Sinem: Oh well, it never ever goes your way when shotting does it, and this one was one just off thebat, Glad how it turned out though smile

Lovely shot. Digging the PPing.
She's a real beauty. And well caught too.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Deji, After working on the colour image a little, Conversion to monochrome was just done by using Gradient map. Cheating i know smile

mmmm ... nice one, Suby.
My preferred B$W style is a bit contrasty so I reckon this is alright!

Lovely tones. Great composition. Is her complexion really that flawless, or is that photoshop magic? She is lovely.
Suby & Sinem: Yup, it really is that flawless, her boyfriend actually posted a comment on my blog in response to that comment smile

I hope she likes this shot as much as we do, it's a fantastic catch!! I love the mood you created, too.

Were you pleased enough with any of the other shots to post later? I'd be interested in seeing how she posed when she knew the camera was on her.

Liking it alot, the way it is captured and processsed.
For me, it took a little time to figure out the meaning in the photo when you notice the man in the back and how she appears to be self obsessed.
For me, GREAT GREAT SHOT!! but might have been better with a bit more simplicity.

In response to Lauries question, "Is her complexion really that flawless?". I thought you might like to know that it most cetainly is. No photoshopping need on this girl - trust me!
Suby & Sinem: Awww, how sweeet smile I do agree with the BOYFRIEND (all those who where thinking of fallen in love, sorry she already taken by lucky Benjamin smile), Her skin indeed is flawless, no photoshoping skills needed here. Suby
Beautiful Photo of a beautiful woman. Love the careless pose she has struck for you as she is quite used to being in front of the lens.
Very nice shot. I wish those round lights wern't in the back ground. Kind if makes it busy....but still a cool shot.

Top shot. Love the whole situation. To me there's only the guy in profile that doesn't fit as he draws attention away from your friend's face.
The other people act well in framing "him" as a punter who's stealing a glance.
Very expressive shot. The deep tones adds drama. Well done.
Suby & Sinem: Okay I am going to confess on this one, I cheated (as I call it) in my conversation to monochrome. Worked on the the shot in colour then just clicked on gradient map and the 3rd box(gradient) from the left and that was my conversion done. smile
I do this very rarely as it can only work with very few shots. Suby
Nice shot. I agree - the darkness really gives it a sense of drama as Don Wiley says. smile
Suby & Sinem: Me like darkness smile Love dark shots, Thanks for the comment.

Hmmm, Mr. Suby what can I say…apart from Grrrr (that’s supposed to be a very angry growl) it’s Rakhee not Raks!
How much have you paid these people to make comments (or have you just pretended to be everyone and temp me into posing for you without complaining; which by the way will never happen)?

Nice shot suby. mirror shadows in the shoulder is bit distracting in my eyes.
wow! one of my all-times favorite of yours! great catch and superb processing!!

Well I'm a lone voice here - this shot does almost nothing for me. It's way too busy - there's just too many things distracting my attention from Sinem. Any they're a load brighter, too. My 2¢ worth.
No matter how you got this one it is a perfect representation of the vanity of women smile
Its really a good shot and the dark tones lend to its bold starkness.
the only thing I don't like is that tattoo on the other woman's shoulder.. To distracting and my eye unfortunately hits that spot. I like this one!

That's a fashionista alright. Great title, Sinem.
ok subester, a bit of constructive criticism! now you know you dont mind constructive criticism! wink

what i like: you've captured the girl, and the bloke looking at her. thats great.

what i dont like: the background is WAY too distracting. the guy with glasses and the girl with the tatts and the back of the white-shirted guy detract from the shot rather than adding to it.

on my monitor the sky looks like a paint by numbers canvas, dont like that.

having said all that, its still a nice shot to look at, and the girls pearls sing, excellent.

I know wot people mean suby wen they say the back ground is distracting but at first sight i was blown away by the girl alone! thot it was a great shot of her n the dark feel-very sophisticated and i wanted that to be me in the pic soi guess u know how much i love this pic. But after all said and done, it is could have been a whole lot better if the background was plane.luv, chinny.
