photoblog image LIFE TO THE LEES

LIFE TO THE LEES

SIN'S IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT.

This shot was taken last Friday on my walk along the River Thames after a drama workshop I attended. As Suby held onto the 'mistress',(the 20D for those who don't know :)), I took the point&shoot camera along; now that I have the photo-bug, I just had to have a camera, you see... I came across this life buoy and had a vision of 'selective colour pp' even before I took it.

Looking at this shot, the embankment walk looks deserted, I know, but it was actually buzzing with life, lovers hand in hand, children playing games, teenagers skateboarding nearby, office folk enjoying what little sunshine and liquid lunch they could fit into their hour long lunch break.

It was one of those days in London where you could feel alive to your bones and felt thankful to be 'right here, right now' drinking "life to the lees" ('Ulysses', Alfred Lord Tennyson).

Intersting stuff. Looks like the peice from the ANG savings advert. Nice work.
Wonderful cityscape Sinem. Love the shock of red. I dare say you do monochrome very well.
sinem,

this is a really sweet shot. what makes it even sweeter is that you were able to envision what you were going to do with it prior to capturing the shot.

the shot has a very interesting, feel to it...almost like a glimpse into the future from the perspective of people living in the 1950s. really nicely done.
