Suby In the House

This Shot is for  idefix  Petra, hope you likey :)  She "requested for some lovely shots of handsome men please ;-)"  So I dug deep deep deep into my archives for one. Hope this meets the muster

Wow guys I indeed stand humble at the reactions I am getting on my last two posts. I just have to admit I do love stirring things up, makes life more interesting. But most of all I want to THANK those folks who bother to stop by AND LEAVE SOME WORDS. This is not an easy thing to do, it takes time, and we all know time is money.

I did point out yesterday on my post that it was "A little test, what is the test? You let me know"  well the test was basically wanting to see if the little niggles like the lighting was going to get you viewers up in arms. It sure did, what actually got me unawares was the fact some people thought the angle I took the shot from was not very flattering to the subject. I do still disagree BUT guess what? I definitely learnt something from all the comments. So once again, thank you thank you for taking the time to visit and comment.

I stand/bow humble.

HUNK

I took this shot of my cousin on Christmas day 2005, we were all chilling playing games (and of course I had my camera with me), I had been taking shots of all the women as usual when I looked up and bingo, snap snap snap and bang, we had this beauty :) . This shot has been forgotten deep down in my archives for a while, when Petra requested pictures of men, I searched high and low and realised I don't have many.  However there are 3 or 4 good ones. Here is one.

NOTE TO SELF: Take more pictures of men :)

Intense look! I like....
Suby & Sinem: Jide, Very good read Breaks each step down to the very basics, Can be used by novices and experts alike. As opposed to my read from yesterday ""Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers by Martin Evening" which I feel is geared more towards the EXPERT photoshop user smile

Lighting and skin tone are good in this photo. So is the pose, a very thoughtful look on his face. That background is no good, but you know that already. Unlike Petra, I tend not to get to excited about pictures of hunks, so this looks like a well done snapshot to me.

I will always try and leave a thoughtful comment, telling you what I like and don't like and why. I wish everyone would do this. I get so annoyed when I post a photo and I get very few responses. It tells me that people didn't like the picture, but didn't have the time or the balls to tell me why. That's happened to me twice in the last couple of weeks and it makes me really cranky. Thankfully, you give me feedback when I most need it. Cheerio.

I like, expression and framing, but background bothers.Blur it or something, becuase his hair smushing up against taht painting might bug on further analysis.
No doubt I like.
GREAT GREAT SHOT!!!

P.s. If you know anyone who has a mac, help out Laurie, she's having alot of troubles getting her cam to work with it.

Oh, now he IS a handsome fellow; and it looks like you didn't have to do any PP on this image, did you?

Please don't forget to shoot more men and toss one of those photos into the mix once in awhile. Don't need one that often, just here and there.
Suby & Sinem: You currect Nicki, apart from converting the image from RAW, this is the shot as is. Tried to do a PP of this image and decided it was good just the way it was smile

1. Dude, really, you could have at least cloned out the picture frame above his head. Oh sorry, I forgot, or am too busy, too important, too illiterate (like some, ahem!) to bother reading what you wrote the other day on presenting/posting un-pp work.

2. And how dare you call Micki Nicki! You've upset me immensely now!

3. Can you shoot just ladies, and leave the men to me? wink Just kidding...

love,

your loving wife
Suby & Sinem: 1. Wifey, you crack me up smile nope no cloning allowed on this shot as no photoshoping allowed smile, so the frame was in.
2. I did, sorry to tired/ busy to even notice smile Apologies Nicki, oops sorry Micki smile
3. So when you come home we going to have a talk tongue

Love,
Your loving Husband

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Thanks Suby.... great pose, lovely chap, super eyes. Cluttered background. Lacks the "feel" I get from your phptos of women, not as well thought out. A question worth giving some thought in a quiet minute ... "Do men photograph women better than women do and vice versa, will a woman catch the essence of a man better than a man does?" But I'm really thrilled you actually took my suggestion on, I wish more shutterchancers would, so many pics of pretty women...
Suby & Sinem: You welcome Petra, I took this off the bat on Christmas day so thoughts of background, lighting and all that was not really on my mind, was just having fun, Was when I was looking for a photo to post up that I came accross this one and thought, emmm the ladies would appreciiate it smile

I wonder what the answer to the question is, I think I will take good pictures of anyone as long as I can get them to relax and have fun with me while I am taking the shots, to me that is the essence of taking a good portrait.

Yep I aggree, too many pictures of women smile

By the way, just an observation ... but notice how you have now put pictures of both Kitty and Seye on your blog but not me??? Favouritism or what! Oh hang on, forgive me, I lie. You have put a picture of me on but coincidentally, I happened to have my back to the camera. By the way, I am only joking and will never talk to you if you put a picture of me on here!
Suby & Sinem: Vickii, you just know that I am NOW GOING to put up a picture of you. How can I not smile You keep looking, You will soon be a star shortly tongue

Good portrait ;-) How do you manage your archives?
Subster, like timmy said very good snapshot, but hey that is what we take when we are sitting around chillin with family. Not every shot has to be masterpiece but with care and practice even our snapshots can be works of artsmile
Nice portrait but in my mind the dark background and his dark hair doesn´t fit so good smile
Nice pic
lovely shot. the look in your cousin's eyes is great. personally, i would have PSed out the brickwork to the subject's left, and the bottom of the pic frame above his head as i find them distracting.

still, you captured his expression beautifully.
