PRESENTING JAZZ.

"Who can believe that there is no soul behind those luminous eyes!" - Theophile Gautier

After the heavy material of yesterday's post, I decided to go easy on you guys and celebrate the Friday feel with a scowl from the king of our household - he does indeed think he is the king, or 'da man' as Suby would say. Jazz has perfected going around the house like he owns it, ignoring us, 'puny humans' until the next meal, spread-eagled on his back with paws in the air, dreaming of mice and birds, into an art form.

We spent quality time today, as I finally got around to tidying the study. As I went through boxes and heaps of rubbish, Jazz patiently sprawled himself over the desk and kept waitching with meticulous care in between catnaps. As the heat gave way to thunder storms, and dull grey turned into sepia skies in stifling summer's heat, Jazz did not move an inch. As sepia skies welcomed the cool blue breeze of the night, we made our way downstairs. As I sat on the couch, shedding the day's heat and exhaustion, drowning the day's end in a glass of wine, Jazz put his paws in my hand and fell asleep on his back.

Jazz, our little tiger, spoiled little brat; really deep down inside, just a little cat with a huge heart.

"The cat has too much spirit to have no heart" - Ernest Menaul

Words and photography by Sinem

"Ars longa, vita brevis."

*** URGENT APPEAL*** All bloggers out there, I need your support and encouragement in the battle of wills with Suby; as Hemingway's said "One cat just leads to another", hence I am ready to adopt a new cat despite Suby's protests. Any bribes, cash or cheque, offered to Suby, or any form of peer pressure, emotional blackmail, persuasive speech is most welcome.***

He's just so adorable. I see you have aptly named him "Monster"! We have his evil twin at my parent's home and over the years, he's given us so much joy - we wouldn't exhange him for the world!
Eye's look yellow to me Sin. Nice capture.

You've got my support in the "one more cat" campaign. I love kitties, but my wife is allergic to them so no cat for me. Since I can't have one, you'd better have one for me Sinem. As far as the photo is concerned, I like it. I think the processing is very effective. I can't figure out what he is leaning against on the left side of the photo. Whatever it is seems to compete for attention with his eyes. But I don't care...he's so darn cute!

Lovely Miss Sinem, the kitty cat needs more focus on the eyes. I feel that the furniture to the right of him is in more focus than he.

I dig the eyes, and I dig the rest. I espcially really dig his "What! I'm a cat, dont mess with me". Very cute.

Sinem, I'm not a huge fan of cats myself, I love puppies instead. So maybe you could invest in a puppy. Maybe a pikaneses (sp). How amazing would that be.

Another cat? The best way to convince him is to get it , worked on my Mom grin once he realizes how cute cuddly and furry it is, he'd have a hard time resisting liking it.
Hmmm the shot, since oddly your SchMood is set to yellow, and you have the policyofsubster link at the same time....I'll go all out.
Well ok selective colouring and angle, yes, good, however one 1/2 major flaw is the bag is in focus, not jazzys face.
GREAT GREAT SHOT!!

P.s. Get a white one, it would be really cool to have one white on black grin
I have one white, one striped and dark, and they had kittens so the result was a lightly striped one. Really cool to have all 3 grin that too Suby we're living in a 2 bedroom apartment, you guys only have one cat in [enter your space details here]

The Subster also wonders why she set the shhs mode to yellow, Oh well her post and I think she may have been just going for the fun factor as most of her shots of Jazz Fizzle are.

Not really my favourite shot in the bunch love, the eyes are cool smile and I love the angle of the shot. Feel you have cooler images though. I think I am slightly biased as this I think, is the craziest kitten/cat in the world and any shot image that shows him looking like a normal cat is just out of place tongue Never seen a cat lie on his back soo much.

As to a second cat, uummmm, the Subster will not be swayed. One is even more than I wanted to have, 2 I see as impossible smile

Subomi

P.s
The cat always seems to love using my slippers as a pillow, so that was my slipper on the left.
P.p.s
Azhar, "you guys only have one cat in [a 6 bed mansion with a swimming pool I would like to say tongue, fingers crossed I will be able to say that in less than 3 years]

selam sinemsmile Id say just go ahead and get it. Its hard to feel sorry for getting a cat.If youre getting a kitten you wont need much bribery. But maybe you should ask Jazz toosmile
Nice cat and trough the colorkey effect it looks a bit scary. I like it.

Oh you HAVE to get another cat!! First of all, Jazz needs someone to hang out with during the day when the two of you are gone. He needs someone to "just be" with. Suby, my dear, can you just imagine life without any human companionship of any kind? When I had cats, I always had at least two. The bond they have between them in really quite special and amazing to observe. Secondly, another cat just means more love and more joy in the house. Just like with children, the more merrier!!

Nice angle...great glow of eyes... loving the b/w theme and the expression of completely mastery on its face is amazing....gonna get an 8/10 from me....good luck with trying to get the new cat.
The selective saturation has exaggerated the colour of eyes and the cat looks quite evil in this shot. It is something like the cat of some villain in a James Bond movie.

Oh, great, I love cats. I have two of them, one is also completely black.

Have a great weekend!
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not catsgrin I'm a dog person myself so I'm a little biased. I have alway found cats to be cold and aloof. To me there is nothing like the unconditional love given by a dog. Our dog Otis is my son's best friend, they play together like two puppies. But, some folks are just cat people and that doesn't make them bad people, just different. I stand by what I said yesterday. CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSITY.smile

Mrow!!! Another cute cat shot!

Do you think Jazz would mind being dethroned by another Prince or princess? My cat would hate me if I got competition for her royal highness.

It works better if the cats are young together. Older cats sometimes don't like the competition that a new younger cat brings to their world.

that is a powerful cat shot, only a cat can scowl like that. I like the angle, it makes the shot a bit more dramatic.

*sigh*....Suby look at that cat, yeah I believe they can be crayzee, but aren't they the cutest thing when they r sleeping {which is most of the time} and when u hit them a little that little scream just makes you want to hug them allllllllllll day!!

Come on just one more!!!.....andd I promise it will be so interesting, for some weird reason i think cats bring peace to a household...lol really!!......Imagine 2 of that!...look at that beautiful baby tigerrr Sooo gorgyyy *sigh*

Just one more, I think black again...but white will be fine....just imagine jazz having a little one to take care of and show around, wow that will be the best thing ever....Imaginee just sitting and watching the 2 of them play, WHAT JOY!!!!

Honestly, it looks evil to me smile
Hello, Jazz! You look just as beautiful as ever! Your mommy knows how to take the best shots of you! Sorry, I've been away so long ... I've missed you! Sinem, this shot is amazing ... love the angle and the lighting, but the contrasts and tones are just fantastic!!!

I had to take care of my mom last month, so I have a lot of catching up to do! Has Jazz gotten a new little brother or sister yet? Awww ... c'mon, Suby ... we'll send you a new pair of slippers if you let Sin have a new kitty! If you're absolutely set against another cat, Suby ... how about a squirrel? We think Ratface is pregant again, and Buttercup still wants to come visit you--at least he would only have to share his treats with Jazz!

Hey, Sin, how's that working? Maybe another cat won't sound so bad to him now? I've missed you two! Hope you're having a healthy and happy summer! : ))
