Watching You

Suby In The House

See  policyofsubster

Okay another chapter in my developement. Going to try different editing on my (and some of Sinem's) images. Let me know what you think.

The next few posts are all about the initial capture AND the editing. So for those of you that do not like experiments and thinking out of the box, please look away now LOL

Apologies, not been able to visit my favourite blogs and may not be able to visit as many blogs as I like to for the next 2 weeks. This thing called "life" is not an easy thing to keep ahead of, but me trying.

Not bad. The whites on the horse seem a little blown out, but the you said you were trying to do that on your last image, so maybe you like it that way. I don't know why though. Composition seems pretty good, I like the way the horse is facing the camera head on. I find the background on the right is a bit distracting, just because it seems a little blown out too and competes for attention.

I like the way you processed this though. It has a nice grainy feel to it. If these photos are about experimenting with post processing, why not include some info about the processing?
Suby & Sinem: "I will please the Timmster one day oh dear Lord" Ahh that is now part of my morning prayers tongue Glad today was one of them day tongue

Yup I do like the blown out bits, looked good so acturned turned it up a little when processing. As to the PPing info, still a work in progress, all will be revealed when the experimentation is at end tongue

GOOD GRIEF .. the Subster posts a pic of a horse ... and a coloured one at that .... As a photo enthusiast I love the dynamic nature of the picture, the way the hair is captured especially the mane, the colours and whatever you did to the picture while post processing..... As a horse person I think this pony needs a good groom, a hairdressing session and - if this was taken in the summer - a vet.....
Suby & Sinem: Petra, how are you, how was ur weekend, knew this post would make you smile. Actually put it up with you in mind smile

As I do not know anything about horses ponies or donkies (sawear they all look alike tongue) I will take your word for it he either need a "hairdressing session" (no I have heard it all, hairdresser for a Pony, what next?) or a vet.

Oh yes, and props to Azhar for another great idea. He is a wealth of innovation these days. I don't know where he finds the time to think up and implement all these ideas of his. I'm glad he is a part of this photoblog community.

What a hairy horsy. Are you going to show us the initial capture or this is it?
Suby & Sinem: Nope no initial capture nonsense for this series, the image as far as i am concerned it the start middel and finished article smile A reason why I am doing this, I blog because I want to improve in my all round skills as a prosumer. The only way I find or learn things is when I experiment, I normally do not share these images with people, but this time I decided, why not? I know some may like and most may dislike, but at least I may also learn something from the comments I receive, A WIN WIN SITUATION IN MY BOOKS :p

I don't know what you have done to this shot... but it's really not skee's cuppa. Maybe it's the noise that you might have added that has created too many blow outs on the horse's body. A solution to this might have been to duplicate the picture layer, then apply the noise filter and this make the layer a layer mask and then brush over the over exposured areas.

That aside I feel the angle is not an interesting one, although this pony looks mean....don't let it's cute looks decieve....get to close and it will kick ya lol.

Since your policy has demanded it, and even though skee really dosen't want too, especially on a monday... its 4/10 for this shot!
Suby & Sinem: The Skeeeelllloooooo.... Waaaaassssssssuuuuupppp????? tongue

Skee hold on to your sit Skee Loo, The Subster is going to give you a very bumpy ride come the next few images smile Yup good idea with toning down the blow out areas advice (thanks), actually left it this way cause me liked it.
And this image was to gently introduce you guys to the ride ahead, eeecck starting at a 4, oh well there is only one way to go from there...UPWARDS OFCOURSE :p

Suby
I like how the wind blows the horses hair. Quite dramatic.
Suby & Sinem: I am not worried bro, I will force you to comment on my images over the next few days, look at it this way, I will be hit for six if you like em tongue

I do love the wind blowing the horses hair, because of the direction of that wind though I think it would be better with more room to the left instead of the right. In any case, lovely photo.

lol Azhar does come up with a lot cool ideas, but this one isn't his. I have seen lots of my favorite photoblogs do it, not in the same way as his (which is a great addition). Somehow I knew you would be his first feature smile
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Faustina, glad you like tongue

Hey him a young man growing, one can only give him all the encouragement he needs, Wish I was half as interprising as he is when I was his age smile

suby,

i dig this shot a lot. i really like the pping....love the noise in the background. terrific effect of the movement of the hair.

sorry that you won't be around for the next few weeks. sometimes life gets in the way of those things that we really enjoy. however, life has to get taken care of. here's to a great week! remember to take some time for yourself.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Nicole, I am really glad you like this shot and PPing, It's going to get even more ecclectic over the coming days, wonder what the folks in here are going to think smile
Yup it is busy for me, but I will survive smile

Experiments! Yay!
Came by for a quick stop, I like it, obviously i wished that the whole background was the wood thing but guess you can't help it. The oversaturated look resembles The G8 (www.theg8.no)
Looks kinda funny since I can only see 3 legs...this is one weird photo man.
GREAT GREAT SHOT! (Only because even though they are experiments, I still have to like it!)
Looking forward to more experiments!
Suby & Sinem: Azhar, the site does not work - www.theg8.no - sad
Lots of VERY expiremental stuff stuff up this week. Wonder how it's going to go down? Oh well only one way to find out... Post Images tongue
You know I just noticed you cannot see the 4th leg, Did no cloning of the animals body so I know it's somewhere in the image smile

Suby
Check out the dudes hair!! pretty cool suby...always like experiments..grin
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Yanik, since you like experiments, me think you are going to like the other crazier images coming up. Had to start you off gently with this one smile

cute photo! the composition looks a little busy due the the background, but its quite a lovely picture. great work!
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Jon, nothing I couold have done about the background, also i am trying to take images now that incorporate the backgrounds into the shot. Seems we all take the easy way out these days to either blur the background or ensure it is always perfect, life sure ain't that way last time I checked tongue Thanks for the comments. Hope you like the other images coming in this series smile

I like the photo, Suby. I think you've got the background just out of focus enough to seperate it from the pony, (looks compressed, was this shot at a longer focal length?) while still showing us a good idea of what his environment is like. Nice work!
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Micki, was quite a distance from the horsey when I took this shot. I am glad you like, look forward to more radical ecclectic stuff from me this week tongue

The only thing I don't like about this is the blown highlights, which maybe you intended. It is otherwise a nice shot for me.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Laurie, seems to be the only bone of contention in this shot tongue Oh well maybe I will tone it down next time smile

Thanks.

Lovely shot, ncei colours.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Craig. tongue
All I have to say is: "moo...."

well that and he looks like a rock star, the hair tossed to one side, the whole deal, makes him look like a rock star horse.. it's kinda cool.

-V V-
Nice hairdo smile and optimal composition for an "on edge" photo but in my mind the white spots of the horse/pony are over exposed or just too bright.
