Okay okay okay, for those that like the old school plain and hardly any PPed to high heaven and back image, this is for you. LOL. (Laurie)

This was taken in my wonderful studio (the one in my living room) and the backdrop is my one and only, expensively purchased (probably £9.99) window blinds. Lighting as ever was with the Subters Lighting kit (1 overhead 60w bulb, 2 reading lamps, lighting from the TV and flash ) Anyone dare laugh, I will seek and destroy LOL. (I warned you not to laugh, now your in big trouble)

I swear I am going to vex one of these days and fork out the dough for that Bowens Esprit Gemini 750+Ws
Two Head Travel-Pak Kit
I am constantly promising myself. (I wonder if that will be before or after buying the dreamy Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II)

Annoying thing is the money in the piggy bank is not moving up as fast as I would want it to. Donations are ALWAYS welcome though.

Thank you as always to everyone and anyone who takes time out of their busy lives not only to visit my little corner of the world, but to also take their time to comments on my images. It means a lot to me when I read comments on my blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you folks for your HONESTY and ENCOURAGEMENTS .

I bow my head with humility.

I get to post first... mwah ha ha ha ha! smile

I donate one cheese danish, and 72 cents (canadian) in pennies and a nickle... I might also throw in a blue ball point pen.. but only if you are really nice to me... tongue

Again, Suby, I think you may need to calibrate your monitor.. It's a smidge on the greyish side again.. Otherwise, Not a bad shot at all, I quite like it... Not quite as Risque as I was expecting tho... Maybe I should post my skittles picture for you... I'll think about that one...

-V V-
Suby & Sinem: I calibrate the darn thing any more it will fall apart bro. smile Checked this image on almost 4 monitors (like I always do) and saw no smudge, still don't see it, are these tired eyes loosing it? lol Did not clone anything in this shot at all. Weird

Ok the model is attractive, but I find this a very boring portrait, in terms of lighting, personality etc suby.
Suby & Sinem: The Skeedazzle has spoken, as he said it, it will be so, will really think of buying that Bowens kit smile

Suby
P.s
Don't think it's boring sad

Excellent shot Subster. (though how could it not be with such a beautiful model) The only telltale of the budget lighting setup is the warm glow, though that could have been achieved with gels using stronger lights. I can always depend on you for ideas on how to get great effects on a shoestring budget. Have I said excellent yet?

Yeah that warm glow, I decided as I was not going to PP this shot much to leave as is, I actually like the warm glow it sorta give out. (although I have another version that I corrected the white balance, I preferred this one).

Well I always try to make the best of the little I have

Hi Suby

She has definitely great eyes, very strong expression.

It is a great shot and yet something seams to be missing and I can’t tell what it is. Maybe it is the kind of shines and protection she radiates. It is also very strong the different shots you presented so far from her.

I appreciate your work

Diya
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Diya, wonder what is missing, now I am on a quest to find out what this is sad

Hi Jide

my last comment was for suby and i had two windows open so sorry about it. can you delet it, thank you

p.s. i already sent you a reply to you answer, it is still on its way and it should arrive soonish

Diya
Now this is more like it! It's subtle, yet speaks volumes. Love the look of uncertainty on her face and what lovely hands. There's a vulverability here that's just it. Composition: check; Choice of subject: check; PP: fab. Me likey, likey, likey...
Suby & Sinem: Thanks babes, glad you likey likey likey tongue

Suby
suby,

this is awesome. now, you know that i love the wild pping, but this is classic perfection. the skin is flawless as is the lighting and tones. the fact that this is a "homemade studio kit" makes it that much better. it just goes to show that you don't need an expensive set of ______to take a great shot. well done man!
Suby & Sinem: No you don't but you need a lot of imagination and a lot of eyes for the detail to get it right tongue

Thanks for the comments.
Suby
p.s. as this is such a fab piece of photography, i let yet anotherr picture of a sey young female pass and no mention anything about putting up pics of gorgeous males with bodacious bods instead.

But only because this is so good.

Suby & Sinem: I am currently looking for male models my dear, they are soo few and far between, it's not easy getting them to pose in front of the camera, but i am trying. have soo many great ideas involving male models I need to capture.

Keep watching.

Now you made me smile. grin If I were her I would be sooooo happy. She looks gorgeous (I'm sure it helps that she IS gorgeous). Her skin is perfect and her eyes have just the right amount of sharpness and sparkle. AND she looks healthy unlike the other one which made her look not too well in my opinion. (The mom in me was upset by the drawn and tired look the other shot had.)

Whatever PPing you did was done so that it works beautifully without making it look like it it was PPed.

LOL Too much with the initials "pp", makes me want to giggle. It's been a long day...doesn't take much to get me going.

I too wonder where all the gorgeous guys are hiding? I think we women should boycott until things change around here! Revolt!!! grin
Suby & Sinem: The guys are coming, at least I hope, they are so shy when it comes to posing tongue

Did very little PP on this shot, vignette, unsharp mask, cloning of any skin bleamish tongue

Suby.. I said smidge not smudge... subtle i know, but i think you need sleep too wink A smidge is like a tad, only a pinch different... simmilar to a pinch, but a dash different, and close to a dash but a shred different... it's close to a speck, but an iota different from that too.. maybe the closest is a trifle... yeah it's a trifle grey wink

does that make more sense?

Who did her hairstyle? Was it specially for this shoot? The hair really looks perfect.

I love this shot. Beautiful.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks for the comment. Loooking forward to your blogg coming live.

Suby
Like the tension you have created , do we nead the ring in the shot ?
Suby & Sinem: The ring is actually one of the things I like about the shot. Eeeeck don't think I took one without the ring though. NOTE TO SELF: take shot again without ring tongue

Suby
Suby, I hear what you say about experimenting but wouldn't it make sense to post your best work up instead of your experiments?
Suby & Sinem: Jide I hear you but there is a problem here, I feel my best shots are all portraits, and if all I ever posted up where portraits, even I would be bored. Another thing is that my favourite shots are mostly those deviod of PPing, I post here to try to learn, stepping out of my comfort zone, the amount of flower shots, landscape & abstract shots I have in my archives is scary, I only take these shots because I want to be able to post them in here (although I know I don't post them to often, never feel they are up to scratch compared to what I see out there).

So will keep on posting the experiments and the PPed shots, as it encourages me to think outside the bos (and away from portraiture)

Subster I'm only laughing because I don't even have the reading lights so whatcha complainin about bro.
Like the shot though, wish more guys would shot natural and do less PP with PS.
Suby & Sinem: LOL, I do a very little PP on a very high majority of my shots. tongue However when I get into shutterchance, I like being daring

I love it. Did you really use your flash here? I don't see it at all. I think your lighting is great, same things I use! I think this is a beautiful photo.
Suby & Sinem: Yes i used my flash, I bouced it off the wall on the left though, there was not enough light on that side. smile

Great pic Suby, been playing around with light a lot myself (550ex on camera and a 580ex off the camera), requires a bit of practice but i see you have had plenty, will be posting many of my light experiments from tomorrow on, wouldn't mind some comments or tips
Suby & Sinem: You have 2 flash guns, you are not endearing yourself to the Subster, you have 1 more than I do tongue

I will definitely comment, looking forward to the shots.

This I like. Another great pose, effective poor man's lighting, great looking lady. Good stuff Suby. I really like the vignetting. It works great for this image. I even like the two bracelets she is wearing.

Speaking of which, what is she wearing? Or perhaps I should ask, what is she not wearing? How does your lovely wife feel about you having this other sexy woman in the house posing for your camera?
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Timmy, glad you like, What was she wearing??? Ummmmm Okay nothing smile lol The woman has more crazier ideas when it comes to shoots like these, and the most important thing is to me and sexiest woman in the world is my WIFEY. As a budding photographer, one cannot allow things like that to distract one from he's aim. Creating beautiful images.

Lighting is nice, warmer to the left of the photograph, colder to the right, and I notice shadow of hair on the face. White background looks good as well. I don't know if you wanted to have a very sharp focus, but to me I think it might be more pleasing to see the hair in full detail with narrower aperture. Beautiful portrait, and good work! smile

-originality, +aesthetics, +composition
