Taken on the same day as http://suby.shutterchance.com/photoblog/2255.htm

Sorry not around a PC all weekend. Have had this shot in my archive for months, had to grab it to post, no where near my home PC today, and too tired to remote access it.

I do like this shot, just never felt the time was right to share it, well it seems that time is now. Enjoy

By the way, to those that wonder, it was intentionally shot & PPed like this.

It's a Bank Holiday here in the UK today, so the Subster has decided no form of blogging allowed today. Strictly going to be the wife & I putting our feet up and watching DVDs all day. All have a wonderful day.

I promise I will post up one of the wedding shots I took with Jide over the weekend (thats on the premise he says I can) :)

I love those weekends away from the computer. I had one too!

I like this shot a lot, although for me it may be a little too high contrast, but at the same time I like that as a b&w it really is b&w insead of a lot of grey.
Great shot Suby!
I really love this shot very much! Simple object in mono color. Great work!
hey suby,

i really like the composition a lot. the dude seems so very intent on the task at hand. i know that you intentionally pped it this way, but i think that is to too blown out. kind of harsh on the eyes.

hope you and sinem are enjoying the holiday!

The light is quite harsh but I really like the solitude he seems to be getting

I like this post, but I think its too contrasty, it hurts my eyes. The man's head is camoflouged amongst the flowers.
I like this shot Suby excellent street work and nice black and white. Looks goodon my screen.

What I like about this shot is how he appears to be taking a break from his errands to enjoy a little sunshine and work a crossword puzzle. Something we should all do now and again, stop and enjoy life. The day you two have planned sounds wonderful. I do hope you enjoy it very much!

A fine composition and compelling subject, for sure - I do agree that the post work might be a tad extreme due to the pronounced highlights on the background foliage. Perhaps if the foliage were dialed back a bit this image would have a more visually appealing impact.

I know you said you PP'd it this way on purpose...I am going to ask why?

To me the background is way too busy. It overpowers the main subject and therefore makes it very distracting.

Too busy and contrasty.

Hope your weekend was lovely.

Very nice. Love the texture, the composition, the theme, everything.
I kinda like the contrast I must say....but then I tend to go a little that way myself....nice work great observation. Phil
Hey Suby, nice capture. The old just sitting on a bench candid. You can never go wrong. Good composition smile

great effect, I love the high contrast. It appears tooo bright in some spots, but overall it compliments the shot.

This is a beautifully taken shot but the effect of your processing is to make me think straight away that it was over sharpened.

Closer inspection reveals that this is not the case and it's purely the myriad flower heads or highly reflective leaves behind the man that made me think so. It would be wonderful if he had sat in front of something a lot less fussy to make him stand out more.
