Broken Too

 Sinem In The House

Maybe the limbs of a broken tree will heal themselves in time
Or maybe the limbs from that broken tree will petrify...

Hard as stone."
(from 'Broken Tree' by Sixfeetdeep)

Bruised, battered, broken... the tree stands still in the face of whatever life may throw, facing the light, leaving the shadows behind... Weathered. worn-out, wrinkly, the tree still stands still, courageous in its stance against those that are prettier, taller, stronger. Mother Earth's gift to mankind, the great sage teaches mankind the utmost lesson - resilience against all odds.

Words and photography by Sinem

"Ars longa, vita brevis."

In all things we do, all all activities we undertake, in all paths we follow, be resilient, do not let yourself ever be broken.  All have a great weekend.

Love it Sinem, you have captured very well something that a little man in a council hard hat will destroy with a chain saw soon. Nice one

The sharpness is soooo good in this shot Sinem, me like it.

On a different note, I like how your shots have a message behind it. This one's deep and probably rings true to a majority of us. Nice work!

I like the black and white processing in this one. It is amazing how nature reincarnates itself.
hey sinem,

wow, this is awesome! what an amazing capture. i absolutely love the way the tree is splintered with the branch coming off of it! the conversion to b/w is simply perfect! really excellent capture...i love the words that accompanies this shot. kind of had a rough day so this proved to be a great inspiration.

This was a lovely discovery, and a good capture in b&w. I really like the wider angle view on this old tree. Nice work!

Its very nice but i feel that "the right" pp processing will really bring out this picture better. (Although don't have the skills)
Suby & Sinem: Expansiate on "the right" PP processing, cause on that one you DEFINITELY have lost me grin

What happened to all those trees? They all look lifeless and dead.
Quite sad.
