Haydarpasa - Istanbul

Sinem In The House

See  policyofsubster

Turkey's largest and most magnificent railway station, Haydarpasa was built in the early 20th century by the German architects Otto Ritter and Helmuth Cuno as an important link in the Berlin-to-Baghdad railway scheme. A monument to the close Turkish - German relations of the time and a gift to the Ottoman Sultan from Kaiser Wilhelm II, the station is in neo-renaissance style and has a U-plan. On the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, Haydarpasa is the terminus for trains to and from Asian Turkey and Turkey's largest and most magnificent railway station.

Very nice. This really looks like a very old post card, it's terrific.
hey suby,

really nice capture. i love the tone and the addition of noise....it gives the shot a real antique feel, which serves to match the historical significance of the station. really nice work.

What a great composition and post processing. Do you carry the seagull around specially for these shots? I must get one. Is it clockwork or battery operated?
