The Beautiful Game II

Suby In The House

See  policyofsubster

The second shot in this series. The game of football is all about 22 people chasing and kicking one poor ball & kicking into a net. It is also about getting the ball away from he or she who possesses the ball at any given time. So it's either all eyes on the ball, or on eyes on the player that possesses the ball. This image illustrates that in my own way.

I hope you like.

Oh and yes, it was indeed raining when the match was been played. No photoshop trickery here.

It gets crowded around the ball!
Perfect b&w. Too bad about the rain. In this picture it looks like dust.

Wow, this is what they call a picture in motion, i like the rain drops, the b&w is also a perfect choice for the picture. Niiiicee
hey suby,

while this is another nice motion shot, i do not like it as much as yesterday's. number 9, the guy in the foreground is blocking all of the action. also, i don't really like the halo effects around the black and white guys' heads. however, i do love the angle of this shot as well as the dof and choice of b/w.

I like it. smile This shot might have been rather boring with a horizontal horizon.

I love the b&w. Perfect contrast level. The angle of this shot is great, with the sideline fitting into the bottom corner of the frame perfectly. Nice work suby. Are you sure that's rain? Perhaps you just need to clean your lens! wink

ok, label me weird but all I can see in this shot is the rain and the suspended drops. I wish I could play in the rain and not have to worry about my hair.
You caught a fine moment: five players in one line. Well done.

Very good shot Suby. It looks a bit like a drawing to me, good framing too.
I like the angleof the shot but am ot sure about how all the players ended up in a rough line. Lovely sharp pic as always.

I liked the other one better. This one doesn't really work for me as a sport shot.

great with the tilted angle.
Really nice frame and light!
This is a definite improvement over yesterday's shot Suby. Good job with the levels and clarity, interesting shot.

Ah, now this one I do like. Despite my comment on your next one (I'm working backwards here) about not liking the game, I do like the image.

The angle works very well, adding more movement to the already frenetic action on the pitch.

Although you say no Photoshop trickery here, I'll hazard a guess that you added some vignetting to concentrate the attention on the subjects, as I don't think you'd have got it naturally with a 300mm lens.

That is an amazing capture of the rain!! The skewed angle of the shot lends to the action of the game. Nice work, Suby!!
