So it works this way, we pay premium price for broadband from AOL so we can get the "best" internet service, so (1) we can NEVER HAVE ANY ISSUES & (2) that at the drop of a pin, if we have any faults, we call their Helpline and they will resolve the issue yesterday. We are supposed to be running at 8mbps but as we live to far from the exchange, at least we run at 1mbps.

Well that was until 4 days ago, when we started running at 0.05mbps, takes 30 minutes to load a page if you are lucky, so I do some diagnostics and find out that it is indeed the broadband connection speed. So I call my FRIENDLY AOL fault line and get put through to this helpfeul chappy in India who reads from a script and does not know his left hand from his right as he has been taught HOW NOT TO THINK for himself.

Well I play the game with him answer all his dumb questions just cause I know there is no other way to speak to someone else in their halo'd 2nd line team.

Well after 4(and 3 hrs spent on hold),  days of bouncing me around and AOL doing absolutely nothing, I call them today and they tell me something I already knew, "there seems to be a problem on the line probably being caused at my local exchange and they will get a BT ENGINEER to visit today.

I spend almost £30.00 a month on AOL for a crap service, So I ask myself, why do I remain with AOL & why do I not move to BT or a cheaper service provider that provides a free helpline? Maybe it's misplaced loyalty as I have been with AOL for more than 6years now, maybe I am just to lazy to move, maybe I am just STUPID, maybe, maybe, maybe....

Well whatever the reason, they really are starting to tick me off.

P.s. We are still having some serious speed issues with our broadband, so until AOL or BT decide who is to blame, we are still not be able to properly reply of visit blogs. So sorry.

Sorry for all the trouble. Here in the States many call it AO"Hell".

I hope it gets all straightened out for you soon. Our internet is strangely lagging today, not AOL, its DSL with Verizon. Unusual for it to give any trouble, although I have seen a lot of Verizon crews working all over the county lately, perhaps they are trying to give us better service???

I really like this shot.

I hope you get your internet fixed soon.

Are these chaps playing backgammon?
hey sinem,

i really like this shot. the tones are perfect and really add to the pensive mood of the game. i also really like the way the light filters into the frame of the shot, particularly through the trees.

"helpful chappy in India who reads from a script and does not know his left hand from his right as he has been taught HOW NOT TO THINK for himself." LOLsy, hey, we're only Indian grin

Ok shot for me, the overblown big part bugs a bit, and would have preferred it without the toning. Just OK tongue

Well, Suby, I know that changing over providers is a pain; but if this happens again...it's time to move on. Until then, make good use of your time away from the computer. Hope you're doing a lot of shooting!

Looks like these guys have a good spot set up in the shade to play all afternoon.
Don't let the anti smoking lobby see this pic!!!! Very nice shot, but have to agree about the blown highlights. Regards, Neil.

Ain't technology wonderful?

No? But this image is. It evokes a great feeling of peace and friendship; of a community at ease with itself; of a lazy Sunday afternoon; of relaxation; of innocence.
