Okay I am stepping it up a notch.

As you all know, I have taken the plunge into the relms of a "wannabe pro photographer". Over the years I have been into photography I have (and still am) trying to develope my area(s) of specialisation and expertise with my own UNIQE style. I will in this series display images from the fashion side of things. I start of with this image I call

                                                                                                          Sensual Droplets.

I am very facinated by people, when I was growing up one of my hobbies was people watching, I could sit in a crowded place and watch people go by for hours on end, with my 1st camera, I could capture these goings on, I could see into peoples real lives, looks etc. One of the areas of human photography I have been studying for a long time is Artistic Nude images, I love the way different photographers present the human body, so I have now stepped up my assault into this genre.

In fashion photography, most of the top models either do Artistic Nude, topless or Implied Nude shoots(was looking at a magazine that had about 15 artistic nude images of Kate Moss only today), I know it is not the cup of tea of some people, so please judge the image only by it's merits or lack of it.

I will be posting other fashion shots, editorial, commercial, nude, implied nude etc in this series. Enjoy the ride and as always your comments are always welcome.

Suby Idon't much care what the subject is it's the image itself that matters to me. For me theres something missing from this shot but I can't for the life of me put my finger on it.
Suby & Sinem: Well when it comes to you, make sure I am the second person to know smile

Suby

Hmmmmm......no comment.
Suby & Sinem: Not surprised grin

Suby
Hmmmm...what does sinem feel about you taking shots like this? My girlfriend would die!
Suby & Sinem: Hey Yanik, this is Sinem. I really don't mind anything Suby shoots as long as it brings the bacon home! Plus, I think one of the most aesthetic creations in the world is the feminine form, so I am the one who ends up salivating over the images anyway. Don't know what that says about me though... smile Sinem

That will have the nudes, which they make us do "clic" so easily? Very attractive shower. Nice shot.

Nude photography... not a bad field to specialize ;-)
I see that I came back from vacation just in time to look at some beautiful pictures!
Suby & Sinem: LOL, it's all about trust bro, just like I am going about my profession taking photographs, so are thes models going about there professions posing in front of the camera. ALWAYS keep it proferssional, treat each model with the utmost respect and curtesy and I can guarantee you the wife will appreciate that you are only but doing your job. At least my wife does smile

Hi Suby, I know you like your images to be on the dark side, but I don't think it works here. The shadows round the stomach, back, hip and armpit make this model look rather masculine. Could do with shifting the camera round a bit to the left so we see more sensual droplets and less bathroom tiles! Looking forward to more though...
Suby & Sinem: She is actually veryu well toned, a ballet dancer smile See response to Colin below smile

As for johhnyg's comment, I'm not convinced it wasn't tongue in cheek and the model has her finger on what it was he couldn't quite put his on!

Suby, this is neither sensual nor fashion. As a red-blooded male I'm happy to look at it briefly, but photographically - nah!

For sensuality, especially to comply with the title, you need to zoom in much closer on the right hand, or more importantly what's underneath it, and make more of the droplets. Even so, sensuality conveys to me something slower than a power shower, so a droplet or two of perspiration or a spilt drink tumbling down her chest would fit the bill better.

For fashion, you need to include some. Fashion, that is. A bangle, a necklace, some rings - something!

It's all a bit off balance too, with too much shower wall on the right and not enough dripping water on the left, and it's all a bit dark.

Not one of your best for me, Suby, but I applaud your efforts in this difficult area. I encourage you to concentrate on compositional quality.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks for the comment Colin, I unfortunately ran out of space on the left (tshe was soo close to the shower pane and shooting this was very awkward for me, I was practically stood outside the room looking into the bathroom, head stuck in shower smile

You think this is dark, this bro is one of the lightest artistic nude images I have, so be prepared for more darker images. Sorry forgot to shange the name of the series, it's called "fashion (comercial, editorial) & Nude Series, Fashion & Nude for short smile As I said, this for me is how I see these images, there are other Nude photographers works I have been studying, you think this is dark, you should see theirs smile

I really love the idea of this. It's a great start to the series. I think I agree with some of what's said above, but I think a crop would chage a lot in the photo. Her neck and collar bone looks so strained in that position, I would crop beneith that, and also somewhere above the elbow (the bottom part really doesn't take advantage of a womans curvs), and then take a bit off the right. I think that would change the photo completely. Anyway, I can't wait to see the rest of your photos!
Suby & Sinem: Thanks for the critique Faustina, very appreciated, keep em coming smile

i thought at first you wrote that you were a "wannabe porn photographer"!!

Sorry, but this doesn't do it for me: (despite her obviously good body) it's just a girl in the shower.
Suby & Sinem: Porn, HELL NOOOO, eeeeck, oh well it's all Subjective. Not always everyone cup of tea, thanks for the comments, more to come, let me know what you thing, next nude shot on Wednesday, tomorrow a happy commercial kinda shot.

Suby
Well Subster, everyone else has got in with the crits before I had a chance today!! But that won't stop me getting in a dig! This is, in consensus with a lot of the views expressed, a very ordinary shot by your standards. I think it would look wonderful (the actual shape of the model is great), if you could PP (YES PP)!! with some different lighting effects. Only a thought, ultimately it's your choice as you quite rightly point out. Regards,Neil.
Suby & Sinem: Dig away bro, dig away, how will I improve if folks like you don't set me straight? smile

Funny you should say that, I actually have another edit with different lighting effects (of lack of it) a lot darker and grungier than this shot, but you folks just not ready for that, and I do have the very simple edit ofcourse, have to say that looks wicked as well but we will not be posting that up would we? Naaaa to simple grin

I don't know Suby, I think the shot has potential but she looks sort of grubby rather than sensual, and the way she's got her hands makes it slightly voyeuristic, as if she's been 'caught out' rather than 'posing' in the shower. There's also a mark across/beneath her left elbow, continuing onto her body, that looks like a bruise.
Suby & Sinem: Eeeck, what mark? Eeeck, must be a PP slip, how could I have missed that, Naughty Suby smile I am glad it has a grubby (I call it grunchy) look, that was my intention, you should see the initial version I wanted to put up, don't think you guys are ready for that just yet, will give it a few days and hit you something really really my style, i.e very very dark and grubby smile

not a big fan of nude photography but u get top marks cuz i dont see anything wrong....8.25/10
Suby & Sinem: Appreciate that bro, not a huge fan of some forms of photography but that does not ever stop me from appreciating what other people do when I feel or think they get it right, when they get it wrong (in my opinion) I let them know smile

Got to be honest with you Suby, I'm not liking this one. The crop on her chin doesn't look right to me, neither does her right hand position.

That said I do like the processing, so not all bad. grin

Chris
Suby & Sinem: Cool bro, glad to know what you think, maybe you will like the coming shots better then (or worse) smile

Suby i think it is the perspective here that is tricky. you are obviously working in a tight spot and the wall cannot be cropped but it takes up a lot of our attention. I know this is a profile shot but i think a right shoulder in vision may have made a bit of a difference. Suby warn us in advance if Sinem is going to do a series of you in the leopard G. nice work.

i love your f&n series so far, they are very artistic and you obviously have an eye for tone and colour. would you consider portrait-friendly focal lengths for your work? i personally find focal lenses under 55mm distort a portrait's physique (big top tiny bottom like an inverted pyramid), but if that's what you're after artistically then go for it! smile

ps: about having the 'Holy Grail' Shot. just capture whatever works for you - the beauty about art & photography is it's subjective- it lets everyone have their own opinions.
