Suby In The House

Yes, I DO TAKE flower shots once in a while, although I know nothing of them. It's just that I see the awesome flower shots others put up and always feel mine does not reach the mark. But once in a while, I feel brave and good about a flower shot I have taken, this is one of them. Hope you like :D

Anyone looking for the services of Suby as a Photographer, you know what to do..... (email me in case some are wondering what. LOL)

Suby that's an awsome shot ! I think the dof is almost perfect for this, you are a man of many talents. i love it when someone takes a step out of their comfort zone. nice one bruv.
Subi, independently of the composition, that seems to me brilliant, enchants the frame to me that you have put to him. Still it heightens plus the tones and colors. Since one becomes?

I think this is lovely. The color is stunning.
hey suby,

stepping out on a limb is a good thing. if you didn't step out there, once in a while, how could we get a chance to see this awesome shot? i love the angle and the dof in this shot. i wasn't so sure about the border, but the more i look at it, the more i really like the way that it frames the shot. and we thought that suby only shot people well....smile

Yow. Great composition. Did you purposely select a higher ISO?

lovely shot,
colours really work well....!
nice PP
Seems you forgot to step down your ISO on this one.

Not sure about your crop. Why did you include the part at the top? i.e. the part of the shot that wasn't in focus?

Have you tried a lighter shade of green for the frame? I am not necessary sure it will work - but i would have tried it. The red stuff is difficult to get to come over as soft - but in general it is a good presentation.
Very sweet shot, I like it smile

not bad at all....7.5/10
You going soft Suby?!! Sheep one day, flowers the next, whatever next. This is a gorgeous shot Suby, colour, DOF, composition, framing, contrast, can't think of anything else. Oh yes, heaps of imagination and vision. Stunning, bro. Regards, Neil.

its always good to try something different. This is an interesting composition although I'm no sure the frame really enhances the picture. Fantastic colour

This is a wonderful perspective and DOF shot.
You know, I will confess; I never know what kind of flower I'm shooting unless it's something really common or generic.
I am thinking maybe a field guide would do the trick?
Very embarassing but there it is.
Hope you and yours have a wonderful week!

Ha! You've been spammed!

About the picture, it's really nice with good detail in the foreground. There was probably quite a distance between that floret and those behind it which gives the really good depth to the picture.

But, I think there's a bit too much background and it would have been nice to see all the petals in the very front flower because as it is this flower seems to be trying to get down and out of the picture. Also the frame clashes a bit, rather than enhancing the flowers; green might have worked well, or even white or a creamy colour that matches the flower stalks.
