Suby In The House

See  policyofsubster

Thank you for all the get well soons. I have a bad flu (& not "man flu" as the wifey indicated) LOL

I was at a video shot on Sunday. Hardest day ever, I was feeling like absolute pants but definitely had to be there. Glad I did go as I got some awesome images. I did push my camera to the absolute limits on this shoot. The lighting on the set was done up for video and if anyone knows anything about lighting, totally different to how we photographers light up our subjects. I was not allowed to use my flash which made shooting even harder.  Also most times I had to be far behind the video camera to capture the images.

Well so there I was, feeling in the dumps awesome sets, beautifully sexy dressed people all around me and creative juices  where at absolute zero, well I managed to snap myself out of it just long enough (about 10hrs) to ensure I got wonderful shots.

This shot is of the Man, the Don, the Producer Extraordinaire of the song Tolu, looking all pimped up and cool. To his left is .... (I forget her name, apologies) and up front is the rapper on the song the talented Lucci.

I have to say that judging by what I saw yesterday, the video is going to be awesome.

Thanks to Tolu and the Video Crew for allowing me unprecedented access to their set. I hope my images does it justice.

P.s. Yes the side of his face was actually that dark and no there was nothing I coulod do about it

Anyone looking for the services of Suby as a Photographer, you know what to do..... (email me in case some are wondering what. LOL)

Fantastic shot! Especially considering the circumstances. The lighting must've been hell. I read about policyofsubster and I have to say, this one is a 9 for me!

I don't know anything about rap, so I've never heard of these artists. I guess the shots fit the theme for rap??? (My kids aren't into rap at all so I never hear about it from them either.)

It's a shame that you couldn't shoot with the kind of lighting you needed. But all in all I think it's ok. I don't know it if the girl was the main subject for the shot, but she definitely is the focal point here. That eye make-up is way over the top.

I'm sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly. I hope you get well soon.

A great shot like something out of a movie - which is probably result of the shoot on a video set.

Suby, that sounds like so much fun!! I am so glad you pushed yourself to get down there and not miss this opportunity! Should be a great series of images. I wonder how long all of them were in make-up to prep for the day. They are lookin' fine!

That does indeed sound like a lot of fun. Sham they wouldn't let you use any flash while they weren't filming but I guess rules are rules.
