SOLITARY REFLECTIONS

Sinem In The House  (Means this image IS FROM Sinem & not Suby)

Only in quiet waters do thing mirror themselves undistorted.  Only in a quiet mind is adequate perception of the world.  ~Hans Margolius

Winter bestows upon us numerous opportunities to enjoy hours of solitary silence. As the barren landscape stretches as far as the eye can see beyond the lakes, vales and hills with sketchy trees and amber reeds, the quiet, calm waters of winter solitude and silence invite us for a long look at our reflection in its deep blue waters. Undisturbed, undistorted, undiluted look into our face, our soul, our life to see the truth, to reflect upon it. Just for an hour, a day maybe, or for a season, until we truly enjoy what we see and learn to reflect on our life through solitary winter months in our own company.

A beautiful shot; and your words created such a beauty to this season along with that of the image. Nature is providing for us a time to rest, recover, and prepare for rebirth like all that grows wild around us. I hope we now all take advantage of the quiet months of winter to do so.

Great post today.
wow! c'est vraiment magnifique. j'aime tout, l'ambiance, la prise de vue, les couleurs...
Beautiful nature scene
Hello Sinem! I like much this landscape, broken by the light! And of between all the darknesses the white swan stands out. Brilliant.
