Silent Landscape

Sinem In The House

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.  ~Ruth Stout

Long, quiet stretches of emerald grass, still lush under witer frost, the chilling fingertips of fresh breeze, the shady silhouette of distant trees, a tiny shed in the distance painted in scrumptious red.

The beautiful countryside in winter, the perfect scenery, hours stolen off short days of darkness and clouds to stroll down lonely lanes, in silence, in solitude, in your own company, belonging to yourself, yourself only, and nature, no one else.

I think it's time for Sinem to have separate blog. No offense, Suby, but she's that good smile

This would do an English landscape painter proud. I second the motion for separate blogs. That way we get two interesting pictures to look at every day.

Lovely pastoral setting and beautifully shot!
A beautifully subtle piece of work. It brings a tear to my eye for what I've left.
This is really lovely. It looks like the landscape there is also unusually green for this time of year. We had our first snow of the season yesterday afternoon and overnight. It amounted to only coating really and it's almost all gone already.
Suby & Sinem: That's the curse of the UK, Laurie - copious amounts of rain to keep the grass green but hardly any snow. We're lucky if we get a little sprinkle once a year! Sinem

I really like this Suby. You did a nice job with it. It has a tranquil yet stormy feel to it.
This is so beautiful ... a red house, green grass and gray clouds. beautiful.
