The George Pub Shoot I

Subysphoto

02:20hrs NOTE: Subysphoto consists of Sinem & Suby as photographers. We have always intended it to be all about the photograph and not about the photographer. Somewhere along the line this may have been lost.  Images posted from now on are images from Subysphoto, we believe the photographer is immaterial to the images we post. All we ask is you continue to enjoy our imagery, continue to offer us your honest opinion & feedback, and continue to enjoy the ride with us.

We continue to work on different projects, the 2 images above are from a shoot we did on Saturday at the famous shooting location in East London, The George Tavern Pub where the likes of Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss & the Rolling Stones have either shot album covers or promos. We were very previledged to have access to this venue for the whole of Saturday. We will share a few of the images from the shoot with you over the next few days.

Many thanks to those involved with this shoot, MINK, for the amazing makeup, the models, Nicola, Venesa & Lorrin Sara for providing us not only with your beautiful selfs, but giving up your whole day for the shoot & especially Anne Mordy, without whose beautiful jewellery we would not have acheived any of these amazing images.

But most thanks has to go to Sinem, for giving up yet another weekend for your "other" profession. Love you to bits :)

you are a little bit late today but it was worth the wait smile Lovely shots, especially the one to the left, the highlights does it for me. For some reason, I tend to appreciate images with dramatic ligthing more, I think it gives your subject this 3D effect...nice work here
Suby & Sinem: Thanks bro, we are glad you like the images, it was a very interesting and lovely shoot smile

Suby & Sinem

Great coulours in the background...love the light in the first photo!

Suby & Sinem: Thanks Petra, we are glad you like the images we continue to post up, thanks for the visit and do have a lovely day :d

Suby & Sinem
Very very well done.
Suby & Sinem: We are smiling here with glee, thanks Bro grin

Suby & Sinem
Just to contradict - I prefer the lighting of the one on the right - whilst the left hand has an interesting shape to the shoulders, it is a little too bright for my taste, especially on the face. But hey I am being picky, they are great shots as I am sure you know. Mike
Suby & Sinem: Contradict to your hearts content, we would prefer you really really liked one image than no image, the glass is always half full not half empty :d

Thanks for the comments bro

Very cool "collage" or whatever this is called, Suby-Sinem. If this were a postcard, you'd get two photos for the price of one and it wouldn't matter which one you liked more, but I DO like the one on the right more, for the record.

Now, if I may put in my 2-cents' worth?! Usually, if there are 2 different photographers, there would be two different blogs/sites on SC (like Karen and her son). I do NOT mind that the two of you combine your shots on one blog. But I WILL mind if you stop telling us whose pics are whose. This isn't about choosing one over the other (when you're posting together). You've done so well to model supportiveness of each other, which is to be commended. It's clear you each have your own style and maybe most of the time we will be able to guess whose pics are which. But I, for one, really appreciated when you attributed the pics AND text to each other. Would you be willing to reconsider???
Suby & Sinem: Hello Ginnie now In Atlanta (God I wish I was you smile ), thanks for the lovely comments above, you put your plea so well accross I was amost swayed lol. I know it's not about choosing one photographer above the other as we have different styles, the aim was always to just let the photograph do the talking and not attribute any images to either of us, but we decided earlier on, we would at least 1st let people get used to our different styles.

We feel this has been done and we can now move on to just concentrating on producing images from the Suby & Sinem team, after all we are already ONE tongue

Thanks for the visit as always, hopefully we willl see you during the Shutterchance meet Ade's planning grin

Definitely enjoying the ride and looking forward to more images as gorgeous as these two here. Just slightly prefer the image on the right.

Fantastic images!!! the image to the right looks much better, maybe because of skin-tones ...

I prefer the skintones in the right picture. The left pic may have worked better in B&W. Nice collage anyway.

P.S. Would also have loved to see the image in the background.
Hi Guys, my turn now. I love you both and your right we can now tell the difference between you so post your images as one I think it's a great idea but does this mean Sin will give up teaching ? On the two images above my taste runs to the image on the right and if the image on the left were to be toned down a touch the whole thing would be absolutely perfect, but as I said that's my taste. I'm really looking forward to the next set of shots from that shoot.

At the risk of way over-extrending my welcome, Suby, I have a couple more things to add and then I promise I'll rest my case! grin

I totally know where you're coming from on being ONE. Remember that I come from preacher's home and grew up with "the two shall become one" concept (leave, cleave, weave). However, the one cloth is made up of distinct, individual threads and we still live in a man's world that still does not really "understand" two becoming one, where both really are equal. I notice, for instance, that while your blog's name includes Sinem, it's still "Photography Subysphoto."

You have been faultless in attributing praise to Sinem's photos. In fact, that was the uniqueness I LIKED about you--to have one blog with such utmost support of each other. THAT was what set you two apart in my estimation. You really ARE working together as one.

But for me (yes, I'm speaking for myself, and remember that I'm an "old lady!"), as soon as you don't distinguish whose work is whose, you are going backwards into something that does not fit what you have been building all along. You have been building an "empire" (let's think big!) of two distinct styles (threads of the one woven cloth) that will hopefully appeal to many people in the days/years to come. By your own admission, some will lean to Sinem's style; others will lean to yours. And because you love and support each other, you don't care who chooses whom because you're ONE. That's the beauty of you two.

But I want to know whose is whose! I want to choose. I want to see the distinct threads that make you unique and set you apart. I saw a comment you made today about looking forward to the day when you have a child. If that child ended up in photography on your blog (I'm being really hypothetical right now), you would be ONE Family with 3 threads...and you most surely would let everyone know what photos his/hers were. And rightly so.

Now if Sinem's work really is incidental to yours and simply an add-on to your own work, I take back what I'm saying. But I think you're leading us to believe that this is really a joint effort. And one you're doing very well together, I might add. I don't think anyone else on SC is coming anywhere close to what you two are doing together on your one blog! I hope you feel very complimented by what I'm saying.

But I still want to know whose "threads" are whose, as you weave this blog together! That's all. I rest my case.

Your "old lady" friend, speaking her mind! smile
Well Suby & Sinem i must applaude your decision. I have had the priviledge of see your distict styles over a short period. At a point i couldnt distinguish btw the both of you. You compliment each other beautifuly. Suby can be that serious and intense professional that he is but its always a joy to see his better half as well. I appreciate you guys.

So Subysphoto i particularly like the picture on the right. Its very real. I could almost reach in and touch her. I hope that was part of your intension.

Ok, I had to come back here again. I am not sure why most people here are choosing left or right I just expressed my personal taste and didn't mean for folks to use that as baseline for picking left or right. But since the trend has been started then here is my 2 cents again smile I think the one on right is perfectly exposed and I think thats just too common, with time anyone can get this. Again this is why I am still in love with the left, the lighting looks hard but it complements the subject, over exposure or harsh lighting is not always bad especially if used well and thats just the case for this shot IMHO..finito
Suby & Sinem: Well said Dotun well said grin

Suby & Sinem
Both are beautiful shots. I prefer the softer lighting on the right.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Red Pen, thanks :d

Suby & Sinem
Beautiful for the two picture even if I prefer the right one smile
I like the one on the left. The one on the right looks a bit dull when seen along with the one on the left.
