I kind of like the idea, but imho this is way to bright and harsh on my eyes....
Petra
Suby & Sinem: Thanks for the comments Petra, dang have to impress Petra with our next shot(s) smile

Suby & Sinem
A good photo, but the gimmick of one detail in colour should, in my opinion, be used sparingly.
Beautiful lady by the way!
Suby & Sinem: One really does have to know when and if to utilise this technique, one thing we have found out, it does differ from person to person as to when a good time is grin

Not sure about this one. I agree with Petra and the background lines are a little distracting
Suby & Sinem: Awww, thanks for the comment Paul, maybe you will like susequent images grin

Suby & Sinem
Iconic...excellent work...just not feeling it as much as some of your other images.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Bridge :d

Did Suby/Sinem actually do some selective coloring here!?! grin

To be honest, S/S, if this is a jewelry advert, I think it really works WELL! The blown-out skin tone makes it a universeal piece. Anyone can wear it!

My daughter and future SIL gave me a one-year membership to the NAPP (Photoshop Professionals--in hopes that I'll learn some more stuff!!) and as I was purusing it, I saw some similar processing. I have a feeling this is the wave of the portrait future on some levels of advertisement.
Suby & Sinem: Hiya Ginnie "currently in Atlanta" (how I am still jealouse of you), some of the imagery we took during the shoot werer taken for certain reasons, this one was to "sell" the lovely jewellery, so we are actually glad thats what you see. Sometimes it is easy to forget that Suby & Sinem do this for a living (okay Sinem hopes to one day be able to join me in this fulltime smile ) and as much as we sometimes post those images that tick all the right boxes, artistically we also are catering for the "market/clientelle" in which we work.

The NAPP is a awesome resource tool, been a member for a while now and learned quite a bit from there.

Thanks for the comments as always Ginnie grin

I think the selective color on the necklace takes away from it. It just seems out of place. I know this photo is probably about the necklace but the presentation doesn't work for me. It seems like the only way you managed to feature the necklace is through the use of selective color.
Suby & Sinem: LOL, it is about the necklace so glad we pulled it off :d
Suby & Sinem
The pp makes this look like a cartoon. It certainly got my attention and would work great as an ad for the necklace.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Martin, funny thing is this is one of those shots we hardly did any PP to, we noticed that the image was very brightly lit so a quick conversion to B&W by simply desaturating the image and bring back the colour of the neclace was all it took. Very important to leanrn how to PP images, not because one will always PP to hell and back all images, but so one knows what techniquie suits what image smile

Its a striking shot so you linger longer and the first thing that your eyes catch is the necklace - so I guess your job is done Suby smile!
Suby & Sinem: Yes I agree with you, thanks for the comment Shailja,

another nice one
Suby & Sinem: Thanks bro, glad you like.

Suby
surprisingly dont like the selective colouring, gives a slightly plastic-ky feel to the image...without it it is good...
Suby & Sinem: LOL, well it does what it is meant to do, get you guys talking smile Plasticky feel, aawww, thanks, thats the sorta look I was looking for.

Suby
The necklace grabs the attention, but those disdainful eyes keep me looking. Great shot. Mike
Suby & Sinem: LOL Blackdog smile

Suby & Sinem
Great shot!!!! Outstanding.
Aloha Kimberly
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Kimberly, we glad you like.

Suby & Sinem
This is serious stuff. Im loving the colour fiddling. Wicked.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Busola, we glad you like,
