Sinem & Suby have a dream:

"that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men & women are created equal"   okay okay not Martin Luthers dream, LOL. We do have a dream though that:

One day, people all around the world will look at our images (or some of them) and tag the word "ICONIC" before them. (Hey this Husband & Wife team have to have some dreams) :)

Well till that day, we will keep trying to attain those lofty highs. Till then, please all keep enjoying our work and keep letting us know what you really really think of our images good or bad.

We are still Suby & Sinem - Fashion Photographers

not sure what you did to this shot, but all I know is that I am loving it.
Suby & Sinem: Dotun should we tell you a secret? (but we will have to kill you afterwards lol) This image was rendered in B&W in Lightroom and all that was done in photoshop was the selective colour and the font. LOL, We always say, once you have a good picture, it only takes the know how and insight to turn it into a great picture (if you know what to do) We glad you like this image bro, this was from a 30 min quick shoot we had yesterday
I think you will achieve your goal. Many of your images can accurately be described as iconic.
Suby & Sinem: Amen bro, Amen, we smiling here bro, we absolutely smiling grin

Gritty. I like it. The weed growing out of the pavement is a very nice touch.
Suby & Sinem: Martin you have just made our day, we left in the weed cause we thought it lended to the ambiance of the shot, it is so good to see someone pick that up. Thanks Martin grin

Brilliant! One of your best published images IMHO.
Your work is already there...now you just need the right audience.
Suby & Sinem: Aaawww, thanks Ray, yes we do need more of an audience, good news though, more of our images are starting to get published, so we crawling to where we need to be grin
I really like the dark harsh Film Noir look.
Suby & Sinem: Thats what we were looking for Michael, we glad we pulled it off even with the selective colour smile Thanks for the visit and comment

Wonderful and creative shot, S/S. Looks like a magazine photo to me. One of those hip kind of magazines, ya know. smile
Suby & Sinem: Yes it does remind one of that, who knows maybe the Editor of such ultra hip magazine like Vogue, EM, Harpers, Bazaar, Elle, Cosmo etc will be moonlighting one day on our blog, see our images and go "MUST HAVE THESE IMAGES & PHOTOGRAPHERS" :p

I like what Ray said: you are already there, S&S! You now just need to find the audience.

Do you have someone marketing for you???
Suby & Sinem: Not really, does Ginnie know someone she can put us in touch with, we are finding out in this industry, it's not what you know but who you know smile
This is brilliant Suby. It could only work in this colour scheme (of course you're now going to show this in full glorious colour, and it's gonna look amazing, I bet)
Suby & Sinem: Will thank about showing the colour one day but really doubt it, feel the B&W is a lot stronger grin
Dream big, my friend. Lovely shot.
Suby & Sinem: We dreaming Mary, we dreaming grin

a truly marvellous image - the grit and grain fits perfectly with the retro 70's pose (reminds me of old Roxy Music album covers) and punk imagery.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks David, we so glad we were able to pull of a good capture here grin
S&s its obvious youve broken another barrier. Well what can i say. You guys are deep. Kudos
Suby & Sinem: Thanks from the bottom of our hearts bro, thanks grin
Not my kind of work you know that
Suby & Sinem: Love you Chantal, you always crack us up, one day Suby & Sinem will get you loving fashion images grin Till then please do keep visiting and letting us know what you really think grin

I started listening to Velvet Underground again recently. This image has something of the dark atmosphere in the songs. And then, Andy Warhol made icons of them... you make icon of her... it all goes together somehow!
Suby & Sinem: Thanks The model will be so happy to read this comment, we are grin

Why was this shot at 1/8000s and iso 400 and f/4?
Suby & Sinem: Shot at AV, so camera decides shutter speed smile, ISO400 cause it was a relative sunny but cloudy day, f/4, why not f/4? smile

For some reason that right leg (as you look at the picture) seems not right. I think it is the white line down the shin bone.

Otherwise very inventive noir type picture, utilising the new template very well. Love it.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Louis, see what you mean but we actually think it adds to the whole image grin
c'est superbe, le modèle, la pose , le traitement et l'humour
Suby & Sinem: Aawww, merci Lasiate, nous pensons que l'image entière est superbe aussi bien, merci pour la visite et des commentaires en tant que toujours smile

F/4 Aperture is fine but if your shutter speed is being driven up, you could have lowered your iso and aperture size. Since you shot in front of a wall, and considering the style, sufficient dof would have been desirable. Hence, f8 would have been a good aperture to maximise lens sharpness, minimise lens flaws and also give you very good dof.

Since you fixed the iso at 400 and aperture at F/4, you maxed out your shutter speed (camera trying to avoid overexposure but couldn't go any further) and ended up blowing out some small areas of the shot (her shoulder for example).

Basically, you could have shot this at Iso 100, f8 and 1/500 to achieve the same exposure but with better image quality. A small drop in shutter speed may have saved those blowouts..

Doesn't take away from a very effective image thoughsmile

P.S Damn, i sound like a Jide (geek) grin
Suby & Sinem: Interesting take on this Stan, don't want to go all geeky here either, but there is zero overexposure or underexposure or blowouts etc on the original image. At ISO 400 hardly any grain in the image, what you see above is all as a result of processing predominantly in Lightroom. Interesting take and views you express though, we like smile
another LIKEY, if you continue like this my likey's will soon include your whole photoblog what is the sense of that smilesmile ICONIC, it is, I love fashion shots at walls tried my own version recently and loved it, but you definitely have an ICONIC image here, Lightroom/Photoshop is a great great combination isn't it, a thirty minute shoot can produce ICONIC images in the 3 minutes there after. Sub en Sin, you continue to heighten the bar in Fashion photography, not only here on shutter, but I am sure you will be "knowing" somebody with the right connection at VOGUE soon, and then you will explode into the super stardom you rightfully deserve, meanwhile I keep on trying to improve my photography and hopefully when I am ready, I'll be knowing the right people (Sub and Sin) in the business and get my shot at stardom, we all should dream isn't it gringrin
nicely done on theanniversary of the speech...
this is quite a stunner youve landed s&s...knockout!

i've been looking at this image for a while now: and i have a long list of things i love about it - it's ART. its functional art - its tragedy. the tone and rough and smooth and sex and culture, the full rockin' sex pistols - under-done hair, and her pose is not overt: make it really pierce you. i like the noise of the process you made with whatever techinques you used. i like the effort you made. i like her body shape. i like the weeds and rock left on the pavement - im all about symbolism. if you were looking for an iconic image - then i think you need to do images like these - pure essays. im not too into fashion - but im into art - and this is good. ~S.
Suby & Sinem: Sara we love your comment (Sorry for the delayed response), it is such an inspiring comment you have made here that we have really started using this wall a lot more in our shoots smile Thanks Sara :dx

Ilove this iamge to bits -especially the treatment. It's so gritty. And you're right - if the model were someone famous it'd be almost iconic.
Suby & Sinem: We totally agree with you Niki, thanks for the visit and comment smile
i like this gringrin
Suby & Sinem: Thanks bro grin
I hope this stuff is getting published somewhere, more people need to see it, cool shot. (And ditto everyone elsesmile)
