photoblog image Face Of Divinity

Face Of Divinity

Subysphoto

This is an image we took backstage at an event we covered about a week ago in Birmingham, we are the official photographers for a Model/Catwalk competition called Face of Divinity, this was backstage at the Central Heats.

Now why have we decided to post up a before and after picture?

We come to realise with each passing day, just because one has A camera or indeed THE BEST CAMERA, does not automatically qualify one as a PHOTOGRAPHER, what one does, before, during and after to produce a consistent quality or standard of images that stands a little(okay a lot) above the quality one normarlly sees is EXTREMELY paramount.

So does that mean we consider ourselves an AUTHOURITY on what images are good, bad or ugly?

                                                                                           Hell NO!!!

We only strive to continue to grow in our journey as people behind the camera, hoping that our images will continue to do ALL the talking for us.

Now on the flip side, because one gets people who pay them to take photographs does not make one the best or even a good photographer,

So for crying out loud Suby & Sinem, WHAT MAKES ONE A GOOD, GREAT, EXCEPTIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?

Answers on a postcard to Suby & Sinem :P (OR BETTER STILL IN YOUR COMMMENTS BELOW)

In other words, that differs from person to person.

Okay back to work, we will unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) have to limit our blogging to once or twice a week.  But you have to keep coming back to our House as you never know what will pop up next :)

Time To Retouch: 2 - 3minutes

P.s We also unfortunately are not able to show any of our best/better more creative works anymore on our blog, at least until they are published or used by clients.

Our continued apologies for the lack of visits and response to comments by Suby & Sinem, we are yet again extremely busy, we will try to catch up on our visits & responses as soon as we humanly can.  Until then, please do keep visiting our House :)

We definitely are still Suby & Sinem - Fashion Photographers

I think its subjective. A good photographer to me would be one that I love to see throught the eyes of.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks E, how are you doing?

Well, hello strangers!!!

Good to see you again here on SC and if the slow-down is due to work then CONGRATULATIONS!

It's fun to see the before and after of your work. Keep it up, S&S.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Ginnie, slowly trying to claw ourselves out of all the work we have to do sad

Your question is the same one I asked the Jide fella somewhere in the past 10 days - when he answers I will come and post it here smile

In the meantime just from behavioural studies of what happens on this blog site - it is clear that some people are more sought after; some others consistently produce top notch stuff (the equipment and time investment comes into it); some others are artistically inventive.

My guess then is that when you combine the three elements into one person's work, you will have a photographer's photographer.

Now comes the authority thing. People want to submit their pictures in competitions. Some people become judges. To be fair they need judging standards for the different categories. These become the rule of thirds or whichever other rule you can think of. Now there are people out there who will go and learn the rules by heart and start applying them religiously. They will be very good as well, clinically good.

That is my take on how life works in the world of photography smile

I like this before and after - already I have learnt a lot from that.
Suby & Sinem: Thanks Louis, my apologies for our tardiness in responding to comments, but hopefully we will respond to as many as we can hen we can tongue

Still waiting for the answer grin

well, what ever tools you are using Guys, they are in good hands. Put a fast car in the hands of a kid you get a car crash! Same with snappers, fancy toys will be wasted on those who do not understand them. Good work. mal
Suby & Sinem: Mal, extremely well said smile

The original looks great for something you presumably took in relatively low light. It obviously cleans up nicely as well. The woman in the background eying the competition out of the corner of her eyes makes the shot, though.
Suby & Sinem: Martin you see the picture exactly as it is supposed to be seen grin

not sure about this one suby....sorry
Suby & Sinem: Now tell me what you are not sure about...

This is actually a commissioned piece, so seeing the original, what you have done differently? You saying the original is good enough as it is? WHY? Is it good enough for a magazine or poster??? (where it ended up)
Interresting ! I must say that I prefer the original because of the warm colors (but subjective...)
Suby & Sinem: Question, is the original as warm as it is good enough for a magazine like Vogue?
