Anyone who has followed our blog or our journey in the world of photography will know we have a passion for Fashion photography. To say we eat, sleep, and dream fashion would be a gross understatement. Over the years we have had the privilege to shoot for some UK & international Fashion magazines and also to cover a lot of very high profile catwalk events, we find ourselves also buying a hell of a lot of magazines that we inspire to one day shoot for. As we type we can see the last 12 editions of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan and quite a few other magazines staring back at us, and thats not taking into account the piles of magazines we have in our other rooms in our home.
WE WILL one day shoot for these magazines, that we are definitely 100% sure of. One of the most highly anticipated magazines we could not wait to get our hands on this year was Italian Vogue's "ALL BLACK" Issue which came out in July of 2008. Why where we so excited? The promise of the use of some of the most glorious and talented models in the world (who just happen to be black), and also to see the works of some of the best photographers on display.
The day after we got the magazine, we just happened to be working with a model friend (Nicola Odeku) and she made a comment about why she wasn't in the magazine and why our photography was not in the magazine as well after all, we all were good enough to be featured. Well after telling ourselves just how brilliant we were (always lovely to prop one self up lol), we stuck on a quick idea, why not just create a mock up of the magazine for the fun of it with one of the images we had taken that day. Above is the fruit of this fun time we had in July.
A link to a collage of some of the images from the July issue of Vogue Italian can be found here:
So what do you our viewers think, are Suby & Sinem good enough to someday for real shoot for one of these (Vogue, Harpers Bazaar etc) magazines?
One day is actually going to be sooner than you may think :)
We definitely are still Suby & Sinem - Creative Photographers
